A group of ladies went for lunch. I loved the italian bread and olive oil, the shrimp were leaping, and the waiters had authentic italian voices1 I recommend going at least once in your lifetime!

I went for bruch on Sunday afternoon. Beautiful outdoor patio area. The food was very good as was the atmosphere. Service was very professional too. My only complaint-they are too cheap to buy an early Sunday liquor permit. Honestly, they won't spend $175 per year to serve drinks before noon? There must have been a dozen people around our table that ordered drinks that morning. Parking is in the rear.

La Dolce Vita was such a pleasant experience, that we only have one true regret: why did it take us so long to discover this hidden gem!?! When we arrived for our pre-theater dinner, the restaurant was mostly empty. However, within 30 minutes, every table was filled. So, LDV has a well-deserved, loyal following.

The food is Italian, with more of a focus on the Northern Italian style. Our group of four people had a variety of veal dishes. Everything was cooked to perfection and was well presented. I was able to convince everyone at our table to start the meal with a prepared-at-table Caesar Salad. It was excellent!

The restaurant is a little challenging to find, and it is in a rundown area. But make the effort to find it. It is worth a visit, or many visits!

Diving up dimmly lit Woodward Avenue in Detroit. Back and forth. That's it! With the lighted tree out front and the elite yet modest "ldv" on the front. Now where to park? Slide around back and holy smokes, lots of people here. High marks for the warm welcome and even higher marks for Wayne, our server. Diverse menu with lots of choices in all price ranges and a family style option. Ambience - very nice, and just noisy enough to have the feeling that you weren't annoying the neighbors. Sixteen years in business. Where have we been?
