Owner description: A casino where you don't need to gamble? That's the idea at MotorCity, designed to satisfy gamblers and non-gamblers alike with its comprehensive gaming offerings and dining and entertainment delights. Its restaurants, which range from fine dining to barbecue, are run by one of the two certified master chefs in Michigan.

We went to the SoundBoard to see the guys of Duck Dynasty. While we enjoyed that show, the buffet lunch ahead of time was disappointing. Our waitress came by only twice, didn't refill our drinks nor clear the table. The food was not horrible but not great and the selection was lacking; yes despite being a buffet with quite a few stations. My husband thought perhaps it was because it was lunch and not dinner, however it was Sunday and usually the day for full-out spreads. No shrimp whatsoever anywhere, bad looking Italian buffet (sauces mixed, alfredo seperated with who knows what floating on top) and quite a few empty pans scattered throughout every station with no workers bustling to fill them. The dessert was terrible and this is in my direct comparison to MGM's dessert bar at the buffet. It looked nice, but we sampled quite a few items between us all and nothing was really good, much less stand out. Dry, blah tasting cannoli's, cookies, blackberry custard cups and eclairs. Too bad, especially for what we paid, we won't be back.
The slots were less than stellar also but that could be because of our preference only. We like the quarter slots and compared to other casinos there weren't that many of them or too many that were there were the 9 line slots, not a favorite. I asked an employee to show me where the majority of quarter slots were and it was where we were, she said a few were on level below us but most were by the "blue" bar.
We enjoyed the day due to seeing the Duck Dynasty guys and being with friends, however Motor City Casino isn't one we'll return to for a eating/gambling outing.

Thank you for taking the time to review your entire MotorCity experience. We apologize that you didn't fully enjoy your visit, especially regarding Assembly Line Buffet and the gaming floor. Your comments regarding the buffet will be shared with our Vice President of Non-Gaming Operations, and we’ll forward your concerns regarding the slot selection to our Vice President of Slot Operations. We’re always looking for ways to add excitement to the gaming floor, and our recent purchase of over 640 new slot machines, along with our new slot bonus-ing system, represent the type of escape we’re hoping to create for our guests. We’re happy to hear you enjoyed the Duck Dynasty show at Sound Board, and hope you’ll give us another chance to show how the other venues at MotorCity can be part of a happy, happy, happy experience.

I go every week sometimes twice a week I never win anything. The machines are so tight you put a $20 in roll with out a penny payback until your 20 is down to $4 then you may get $.2,00 and a tease at THE BONUS And on your last spin you ar left with an almost bonus on the screen..

where is the gaming commission.Casinos are not fun anymore. Everybody should just stop going
and let them see how it feel to go broke..

Don’t forget to sign up for Club Metro, then use your card every single time you play. You’ll earn points towards Sound Board concerts, spa visits, restaurant meals, etc. That way, even when the machines don’t feel like they’re paying out, you’ll always win.

I saw Diana Ross at MotorCity last night and the theatre was a horrible experience. These casinos give so many comp tickets out to the worst drunks I have ever seen. People were so drunk and falling over.. screaming and threatening us when asked to sit down so we could view the show. Security was no where around and drunks were allowed to do whatever they wanted. The sound system was horrible and the video screens were completely out of focus. I will never again see a show at a casino and especially this one. Unlike 3/4 of the people I paid top dollar for my ticket.. this Casino needs to monitor their crowds.. we felt very unsafe.

We’re sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your experience at Sound Board. Safety is our number one priority, and it seems like we didn't do enough this time around for your visit. Your comments will be shared with our Vice President of Entertainment and our Director of Security to ensure that something similar doesn't happen again. We’re constantly working on our state of the art $3 Million Audio/Video systems so that every experience at Sound Board is impressive and aw-inspiring. We’d really like to get some more information on what didn't live up to your expectations, and we’d love it if you could shoot us an email (digitalmarketing@motorcitycasino.com) with your contact information so we could get it over to the appropriate people.

This casino has a lot of old slot machines that are so faded you can hardly see the wheels. They need to update the machines and get in some of the new machines like some other casinos (Firekeepers has much nicer slot machines).
I had lunch at the buffet, the food was okay but nothing special and if you do not have a comp for lunch the price is $21.00 for lunch-too high. The wait staff at the buffet were very nice and prompt.
