We went to the SoundBoard to see the guys of Duck Dynasty. While we enjoyed that show, the buffet lunch ahead of time was disappointing. Our waitress came by only twice, didn't refill our drinks nor clear the table. The food was not horrible but not great and the selection was lacking; yes despite being a buffet with quite a few stations. My husband thought perhaps it was because it was lunch and not dinner, however it was Sunday and usually the day for full-out spreads. No shrimp whatsoever anywhere, bad looking Italian buffet (sauces mixed, alfredo seperated with who knows what floating on top) and quite a few empty pans scattered throughout every station with no workers bustling to fill them. The dessert was terrible and this is in my direct comparison to MGM's dessert bar at the buffet. It looked nice, but we sampled quite a few items between us all and nothing was really good, much less stand out. Dry, blah tasting cannoli's, cookies, blackberry custard cups and eclairs. Too bad, especially for what we paid, we won't be back.
The slots were less than stellar also but that could be because of our preference only. We like the quarter slots and compared to other casinos there weren't that many of them or too many that were there were the 9 line slots, not a favorite. I asked an employee to show me where the majority of quarter slots were and it was where we were, she said a few were on level below us but most were by the "blue" bar.
We enjoyed the day due to seeing the Duck Dynasty guys and being with friends, however Motor City Casino isn't one we'll return to for a eating/gambling outing.
