The collection was immense. We especially loved the Rivera murals. One staff member actually took the whole late afternoon to take us on a personal tour of Detroit attractions.

The DIA is a real gem in a troubled city. Don't miss the amazing collection and the Diego Rivera murals. The building itself is gorgeous.

This museum trip was incredible all the way around. Admission was cheap. I have trouble walking and standing, so a cart was provided me by very kind and understanding museum staff. The exhibits were astonishing and presented beautifully. They even have an entire room painted by the muralist Diego Rivera. I could have spent all day slowly enjoying all the masterpieces available at this gorgeous museum. We ended with a truly delicious lunch at the cafeteria.

Without exception, every museum staff member and cafeteria worker we met was friendly and nice, which really added to our experience.

Any trip back to Detroit will have to include another visit to this exceptional museum.

This was a wonderful exhibition. Priceless works if art, displayed to showcase the limitless talent of the craftsmen who made them.

There are a number of world renowned artists--Matisse, Reubin, Warhol, Van Gogh, Renoir, and I know I am forgetting quite a few others. I was very very impressed. The admission charge for adults was only $8-quite a bit cheaper than flying to Europe to see works by those masters. There are a couple of restaurants on the premises and outdoor concerts as well. Near Wayne State University in Midtown. It is quite impressive and worth the effort to see.
