You would have to drive at least 5 hours to see anything comparable. Best collection in the mid-west.

For years the DIA has been putting on free shows in the Diago Rivera Mural room, first of all the mural is a must see, but the free entertainment, whether it be art acts or music is always first class and extremely enjoyable. If you find yourself in the Detroit area on a Friday evening, check out the schedule and come see a performance - along with the museum - it's excellent and it's free!

There's something for everyone here. I'm not particuarly interested in art. But theres so much to see here form famous persons, so you gotta love it. I did.

Everywhere we go we visit art museums, but nothing tops our very own Detroit Institute of Arts. The traveling exhibits are always wonderful, but it is the regular exhibits, the make your own art projects, the pottery classes, and the very helpful docents that make every visit better than the last. This museum never disappoints.
