We hadn't been down to the museum in a while, and took an afternoon off to see the Faberge exhibit and was thrilled to see the museum had made some really positive changes. It always was first rate experience, and now it's better. Some hallways are redone and look fantastic. The cafeteria is large and very nice. In the past we might have not considered taking our smaller children, but now I feel like they would really enjoy the experience. Detroit is lucky to have such a fine museum.

This is a world class museaum with a great theater. Just saw the Faberege exhibit and it was outstanding. Go now and see for yourself what a cool place this is. Better yet, make a donation and go as much as you want with no additional fee for entry.

I lived in the City of Detroit for 38 years and never bothered to visit the DIA, what a mistake, I took my daughter back for a visit and we spent the entire day and have now been back twice. We are about to go back again and have added the cafeteria as one of our "must have meals" on our trip. It really was that good! If you are a museum lover you will not believe how this is like an oasis of art and history in the middle of the city. It is well worth the trip and worth every moment of the time it takes to see even part of it.

This is a wonderful museum in a beautiful building with a great collection. It has quite few impressionist paintings. The Diego Rivera Detroit Industry murals in the courtyard is a wonderful work of art and a must see. They provide you with a (free) iPad with very detailed information about the murals so that you can explore them.
