I took my mother there for Mothers Day brunch thinking it would be nice to do an All Detroit Day for her since she moved to Northern Michigan awhile back.
For those who may not know, "The Book" as we Detroiters call it had fallen into disrepair several years ago but the Westin bought it and spent millions to renovate the beautiful building and they a spectacular job.
There are several restaurant in the hotel and they advertised for a Mothers Day Brunch and since Cliff Bells was sold out, I figured next best thing.
WRONG! The service was average, the food mediocre at best and the atmosphere, well, what atmosphere.
I thought the brunch would be in the beautiful dining room but they served it in the bar. Really?
But don't take this an an indictment on the hotel as a whole or the other VERY fine restaurants there in. I highly recommend the hotel and Roast (one of the restaurant), I was just very disappointed in the brunch, but it didn't ruin the day, we still had a blast in the city!
