Everyone loves the recreation of the streets of Detroit, the railroads and the automobile. You will too. Family friendly.

We enjoyed our visit to this museum. The museum focus is Detroit history and it is very comprehensive. A lot of thought was given to the exhibits and it was well worth the trip. We were in Detroit on a Sunday so we decided to visit the museum. It is great place if you are in town. I don't think I would go out of my way for this museum. However, with must-sees like the Detroit Art Institue across the street and Motown just a few minutes away, there is plenty of reason to put this on your list of things to do. Allow just 1-2 hours for this museum.

We really enjoyed visiting the historical museum. We learned so many fascinating facts about the rises and falls of Detroit. There are 3 levels of exhibits. I loved the Frontiers to Factories which spanned 200 yrs of Detroit's evolution. The cost to enter is a donation of your choosing. Parking which is next to the museum is $5 & collected on entry. There is a small gift shop for gifts & snacks. The museum closes at 4pm Tues-Fri & 5pm on weekends.
