“AWESOME PLACE”
Reviewed November 11, 2008

Do not come here if your expecting the Ritz or some divine breakfast or if your a snob. Some of the reviews are ridiculous. I wonder what these people are expecting for $50 a night.
I stayed here Oct 18-25th and worth every penny. Clean, comfy beds and huge fluffy pillows. Located in West Dearborn near tons of great restaurants, activities and nightlife.
The room itself is a decent size, powerful shower and includes a mini fridge and microwave. Maid service was thorough and super friendly and Feris the checkin clerk, ran outside to help me when he noticed I was having trouble with the electronic key..Wow, what service!
I will be back next year, most definitely!

and as far as the negative reviewers, please do go elsewhere.

We Stayed at Victory inn for 2 nights, we were just wanting a place to sleep, not expecting a whole lot. On arrival the lobby was only half tiled on the floor, the rest was bare concrete with dust everywhere and the removed tiles lying in the corner. a small a4 note apologised for the work during "'renovation''. the assistant at the reception told us that the rooms were newly re-decorated (hmm, not sure if they used a professional to do this!)
The room was very dark, and as it overlooked the pool on the ground floor, we could not open the curtains (no net curtains). the blanket on the bed had a large cigarette burn hole, and was bobbly and tired. the bathroom, although fairly well-sized was grubby round the edges. there was a fridge and microwave in the room, but rather oddly placed and in the way.
We did not have maid service, but this was our choice as we had a lot of washing hanging in the room, so i can not comment on their service.

Breakfast was a very miserable affair; because of the renovation breakfast was held in one of the bedrooms near the lobby, with a couple of tables and chairs and TV. The first morning we arrived rather late for breakfast and there were two donuts and a couple of english muffins left. a jug of orange and coffee. We stupidly assumed that we'd missed the good bits so went down earlier the second morning. NOPE! the only food available was a tray of sugary donuts and muffins.

The second night was disturbed by a cricket (or some other chirruping insect) that seemed to be inside the air conditioner. we had to use bug spray for a quiet nights sleep.

On returning to the room after breakfast the second morning, with the intention of just packing up and leaving; I was clearing up a cup left from the previous night only to find millions of ants all over the carpet :-( we quickly packed and informed the front desk who apologised and said he'd send someone in to look.

We'd stayed at the Red Roof inn Dearborn about half a mile from Victory inn. It HAS been renovated, and i would recommend it over Victory Inn in a shot!!

Don't be put off by the outside. The hotel is under a new management and it shows Our room was large, comfortable and very clean. With the AAA rate, it came to 54.00 for two doubles. The staff is just lovely - very helpful and friendly and obviously excited about the new improvements. Breakfast average but all in all a great value.

  • Liked — The vallue
  • Disliked — The detergent used on the sheets was uncomfortable for my son who is allergic to lots of stuff. Hallways smelled but I think that was the construction.

If you are planning a trip to Dearborn, do yourself a favor and stay at another hotel. This place is gross, dirty, the property managers are no where to be found, will not accept any responsibility for any problems, if you are looking for a clean place with customer service keep going, do not stay at "A Victory Inn"

I will never stay here again. The only reason I stayed here was the closer hotels were booked for this weekend. The room a/c did not work, the shower was clogged, the pillows were filthy, and we never received housekeeping even after many request to the manager. When I checked out and wanted to make a complaint, the front desk clerk stated no one was available to take my complaint because the manager sprained her ankle at a festival the night before.

I and my sister with her two daughters traveled to Dearborn Michigan to visit the Henry Ford Museum and the Ford Rouge Factory. The Victory Inn hotel was very close to where we want it to visit , only 5 minutes. Very convenently located, just 2 minutes from the Downtown West Dearborn. Front desk clerks were very helpfull with assistance on directions and dining places.
Great value and accomodations. We will go back in the summer.

Staff was real friendly, but the property is on the dumpy side. Hallway carpets were heavily worn and faded and the lighting was dim, like a cave. The rooms were adequate, a trifle dusty in certain corners, but clean for the most part and in fair condition. The smell of cleaning fluid throughout the hotel was strong. Stay here only in you're on a road trip and are just "passing through" and do not pay more than $50 per night with taxes. The Michigan Ave location is convenient to Telegraph Rd, which gets you to I-94 or I-696. There are a number of fast food joints nearby, a Tim Horton's, Big Boy, some inexpensive family dining place, and a German restaurant, Richter's. There is also a Home Depot and Toys R Us within a mile or two. Head east on Michigan Ave and there are some nicer eateries like Au Bon Pan, Cold Stone Creamery, Chelio's, Kiernan's Streakhouse, Ciao, Pizzapapalis, Crave, etc. A simple continental breakfast is available at the office every morning.
