“Staff Go Out Of Their Way Here”

We recently spent one night here while exploring the Henry Ford Factory & Museum in Dearborn and booked based on all the positive reviews on Trip Advisor. They were "spot on"! Joshua checked us in and was friendly and efficient asking if we needed ideas for where to have dinner. He recommended "The Big Fish" which was only a few minutes' drive away and promised a great experience as "they always take great care of our guests". We checked in, had a chat about it and decided to go with it so called Andrew at the front desk to make a reservation for us. It was a great night...we were warmly greeted at the restaurant and given full VIP treatment. Our stay was very comfortable and despite the hotel being very heavily booked, the service was top-notch! Highly recommend this hotel.

We spent four nights at the hotel in mid-September. It was spotlessly clean, comfortable, and the staff was both friendly and efficient. I requested a room on the second floor at the back (looking out onto a train track and a wooded area). The individual checking us in took time to explain how often we'd hear a train. I assured him that wouldn't be a problem, and we were given what I considered a perfect room. The windows could be opened and we were able to sleep with a fresh breeze all four nights. Other than the occasional train sound, it was the quietest hotel I've ever stayed in - anywhere. Rooms were comfortable, well-equipped with good television, refrigerator, microwave and a generous supply of towels. The breakfast room can be crowded because of so many people staying there (some bus tours), but it is large, with a lot of seating, and the staff continually replenishes the food stations. More than adequate selection.
The bus tours were the big surprise. We never heard talking in the halls, knocking on doors, doors slamming–any of the annoyances that are present in many hotels, including the very upscale ones. Either the soundproofing is superior, or the tours are carefully evaluated before booking. Bottom line. I wish I could take this hotel with me on every trip.
Only suggestion for a better experience would be a higher quality of coffee in rooms and breakfast area.

This hotel was just that, "AMAZING"! Extremely clean, the staff super friendly. We came up from Ohio to go to the Casino's which was only a 10 minute drive away, defiantly worth it. I will defiantly come back and highly recommended this facility.

This hotel is very clean and comfortable. It was close to the Henry Ford and Greenfield Village. they offer a shuttle that will take you to and from the museum and to and from local resturants that is fast and courteous. The staff is first rate - they made a reservation for us at a local seafood resturant - what a wonderful experience! They took us in the shuttle - when we got there we had a "VIP" table with first class service, menues with our name on them, a free appetizer, we met the chef, two managers stopped to check in on us and the wait staff was supperb! This was a little unexpected and very pampering - by the way the food was excellent too. Be sure you call the hotel for your reservation if you want the "Henry Ford Package". It saved us about $30 in ticket fees and our room was about $25 less a night.

Room Tip: Great size king room

My comments reflect a three night stay while at a conference in the area. This Comfort Inn was a Hampton Inn re-furbished in 2011. The facility is heavily used and considerable effort occurs to keep the common areas organized & clean. The desk is enthusiastically staffed. An internet station is available in the lobby with Wi-fi in the rooms. A shuttle van can be arranged for transport within the immediate area. The breakfast area, with the typical “free” breakfast options, was crowded each day as most clients wait for the 9:30am opening at the adjoining Henry Ford Museum & Greenfield Village rather than move along.

“No smoking” signs are prominent in the lobby & room, however my room had an unpleasant perfumy smell to cover a distinct smoker smell in the room. I left the window open & air fan on during my stay. (desk apology). The in-room refrigerator is not cold enough to store food safely, cool, not cold. I didn’t use the micro-wave which is marked “no popcorn due to fire restrictions”. There is no microwave in the breakfast area.

House-keeping would ask “Do you want room service” after 3 pm each day rather than during the day while the room was available. By late afternoon, I needed the room to handle e-mails and phone calls. The one night stay turn-over has housekeeping priority. House-keeping and laundry is under-staffed, thus not acceptable. The apology the first day was pointless as the problem repeated the second day.

The back-side of the building faces fenced rail tracks on a woody berm separation from Greenfield Village. The Village entrance is 1.5 miles away. The front faces a divided six lane road which is very busy at commute times, and a woods. Westborn Market is a 10 minute walk, ½ mile away, an excellent small grocery market and a great alternative for (healthy) meals as there’s little in the area. Avoid the Ford – Southfield area and look for restaurants, Target, Meijers, etc at the Fairlane green at the Outer Drive exit of Southfield Highway for safety reasons.

A train station is in construction adjacent to this Comfort Inn for a fall 2013 opening. For those visiting the Ford or U-Mich Dearborn campus, the airport area has several chain-hotels 10 miles and 10 minutes away as an alternative.

Room Tip: check the room before accepting, especially the bed & room odor.

I've been there twice this year, staff is always extrememely friendly & helpful, rooms are nice & clean, couldn't be more convenient if you're going to Henry Ford Museum. Only downside is that there isn't enough food for breakfast at peak eating time.
