A piece of history molded into a modern facility. The interior and rooms feel authentic, yet very well updated. Some historic inns look/feel like fresh paint on an old/worn facility. Not here. You feel like you're in a new facility, but it's 1931 and you just flew into the Ford Airstrip across the street (converted to a test facility after it closed in 1933) to meet with Henry; at the first hotel in the US with air conditioning. Food and restaurant were great, but an 'authentic feeling' bar of the era would truly be a fine touch, I didn't see a reason to even sit at the bar as it is today. (I visited long ago and seem to remember a bar Henry would be proud of). Rooms, albeit a bit small are comfortable and again feel 'authentic'.
Take 5 minutes and check out the history on Wikipedia and you will see why this is a must stay at place if you are staying in Detroit. Only about 15 minutes from the airport.

Room Tip: The main house/inn has smaller rooms, but I prefer them so I can be in the most historic part of the...

My wife and I stayed here while visiting The Henry Ford and Greenfield Village. A beautiful hotel and a visit with history as well! Our room was beautiful and very comfortable. The staff was cheerful and helpful. The Edison was great! Breakfasts there were delicious! Not a bad thing can be said about The Dearborn Inn, and we can't wait for our next visit!

Room Tip: Stay in the Older section of the hotel.

I was very impressed with my stay at the Dearborn Inn. I was immediately welcomed with a grand lobby and hot apple cider. The hotel is beautifully historic and filled with so much to learn. I spent an afternoon working on my computer in the sunroom. The restaurants were both incredible, I didn't even feel the need to leave the hotel while I was there! I was so pleased with the food and the level of service. I would definitely come back here again.

We have stayed here a number of times, in winter and summer, and always look forward to going back. The restored lobby is breathtaking, and the staff is wonderful. Rooms are large and well appointed. In the summer, the outdoor swimming pool is huge and great for kids. This Henry Ford hotel is like walking back in time - in a good way. The restaurant is excellent, and we highly recommend the room and dinner package.

We expected much more. Paid a lot of money but holiday inn has much nicer rooms for half the price including a jacuzzi tub. We didn't sleep well with doors slamming all night, the room was very small as was the bathroom. Seemed clean at least but overall just mediocre.

As for the hotel's AAA four-diamond rating, it is based on a number of factors, including service, overall facilities and ambience, quality of food and beverage, as well as guest room characteristics. This is a very nice place to stay. We were a group of ten. The rooms are clean. The beds are comfortable and cozy. All the staff that we came in contact with, at any time, over the week-end were knowledgeable, friendly and respectful. The food was tasty and hot. Presentation was done very nicely as well. As it was a very snowy week-end the parking lot and walkways were cleaned and salted. The handicap room had plenty of space for movement etc. as well. The lobby, with a fire-place has historic feel to it and is a good place to take pictures. You can not find a better place to stay in Dearborn than by staying here.

I stayed over Thanksgiving day weekend, so this is a late entry. I arrived at 2AM the hotel lobby was nicely decorated in Xmas decorations. The front desk did a nice job of welcoming me for that time in the morning. The hotel has a great historic look, the furnishings in the lobby are great Americana.

The restaurant was an excellent design and inviting. The service was on par with the 5 star rating. We ate their the night of Thanksgiving after the brunch diiner rush. Also, ate breakfast. They had Starbucks coffee for purchase in the morning. We did not do room service.

The Gym had lots of new equipment and was not crowded. The headsets didn't work on some of the machines.

The grounds were charming. The hotel is across the street from Greenfield village for worth the time to visit. A walk to other resaurants is a very healthy stroll and only recommended during warm weather.

The room has lots of space, the TV reception was clear and the bathroom was clean. This is an old hotel building refurbished, so one has to adapt to that environment. The only compliant was the bed's comfort and their pillows. I am not quite sure why hotels skimp on the most important investment as the bed. It was not comfortable and had the weirdest selection of pillows. The pillows were very small and hard to lay one's head on.

Parking is free which is a nice touch. I would stay again, but would call the hotel to have normal pillows placed in my room.

Room Tip: Ask for regular pillows
