At a hotel of this caliber, you would think that wifi would be a included amenity, NOT. My daughters were in a NAM pageant there for the weekend. Even kids TV channels were extra! We also had to pay a convention fee. I have never heard of that. But at $5.99 per night per room, for a minimum 2-3 night stay on a completely booked hotel, imagine the extra they brought in. This was a hidden fee we were not told about. Well, once again, I have been schooled on my dime. I will ask even more questions in the future when making reservations. Even in 4@5 star hotels.

Stayed at this hotel two years in a row for a convention. The front desk staff was quick and courteous when checking in. The hotel is modern and stylish. Rooms are decent and clean from what I could tell. Walls are VERY thin however. You can hear your neighbors like they were talking to you. The elevators seemed to break down quite a bit. The only real complaint i had with this hotel was that they got me with the $10 water on the desk trick. Didn't read the sign until I drank the water. Don't drink any of the waters that come with your room! They aren't free!

The Customer Service was SUPERB!!!!, i traveled with my mom who is handicap and unfortunately I didn't bring her wheel chair. The Hotel had a wheelchair for my mom and the security guard was always there when i needed them to assist her, they took her anywhere she needed to go with no hesitation. That made me happy seeing someone else taking good care of my mom. My room was clean, i had a great view of the city/highway. Only thing was missing was a complimentary continental breakfast, that would've put the icing on the cake.

If I didn't get this room thru PL, I would have checked out. I cannot believe this hotel is a 4star on PL...it should have been a 2 star! The rooms were outdated and the carpet was so dirty. Dust all along the edges and who knows what else. The bed linens were very clean. Pool area is small and the pool is in need of repairs.

From my point of view, this is most definitely not a four star hotel. It's in desperate need of refurbishing as everything is quite dingy especially the carpets. The bathroom was tiny and outdated although clean. You can hear the conversation of anyone in the hallway outside your room. I booked through Hotwire and even at the discounted rate, I wouldn't consider returning. In fact, I checked out early and didn't stay through the final night for which I had already paid. I also noticed on the Hyatt Regency Dearborn website that this hotel will no longer be a Hyatt managed property after October of this year. Seems Hyatt is no longer interested in investing in the property, and it shows.

Room Tip: Given you can hear everything that's going on outside your door, I would suggest a room that is...

It's a decent hotel but not what I expected. The hotel seems outdated, my room was just ok. One of the bath towels had a large stain on it and the towels were well worn. My room was near the elevator and it was extremely loud. On the plus side the staff was efficient and friendly.

Room Tip: Stay away from rooms near the elevators.

I am rating this hotel as average based on the fact that it advertises and presents itself as a four star hotel. It is not. The place is huge as you can see from photos. Kind of a weird architectural design-- not a few people say it feels like it references a mosque in some ways, with that confusing architectural thing on top. Walls are very thin. You can hear your neighbors. Also , you hear people all night walking up and down the hall, talking loudly. I've been here a few times. Once I had a nice room, quiet, and it was a pleasant experience, the people at the front desk were very helpful with area information. The second time, the front desk people were distant and had attitude, were aloof, and lacked politeness (day staff: good, night staff: bad). I went to the bar to get a club sandwich to go. They said that they had to follow the room service schedule and it would take 45 minutes, which was a definitive thumbs down. Takes forever to walk from your car to the front door. Glass elevators are cool. When you tell them that the room has too much highway noise they say "you can't hear the highway. there's double glass." Guess what? You can hear the highway. You can hear it very well. Some of the rooms have carpets that are bubbling, many of the sinks are scratched. Definitely has a lot of grime and soot and dust throughout room, coffee maker skanky. The king rooms are in two configurations. the ones where the bed faces the window are much nice. The other kind is less comfortable. They will tell you at the front desk that "every room is exactly the same." from staying here three times i can attest that that is not true. not in the least. (I hate when they say that when it's not true!) . So, it's not a terrible place. They do charge quite a bit for internet. It is close to the sights in Dearborn. It's in a heavily Arab neighborhood, named the most heavily populated Arabic neighborhood in US. That's a plus if you're into mideastern restaurants. It's a little culturally different area. Even the US Post Office has all it's information in Arabic. There's a mall across the street from the hotel. One view out window is mall, the other view out the window is highway. I'm of mixed feelings about this place. Hyatts have gone downhill and are all almost uniformly given higher star ratings than they deliver on, but of course, there's much worse. So, if it were a three star hotel, i'd rate it very good.
