“Great History and a very, very nice Museum”

This is a great place to take your family! There is so much to see there and also for the kids! We really enjoyed looking at all the cars - and the other exhibits they have here. We especially liked looking at all the cars past Presidents had used.

“Wonderful Museum - Don't pass up the chance to visit!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 30, 2013

We only live 1-1/2 hrs away and finally had the chance to visit Henry Ford Museum. I went with family members and we all enjoyed the museum. We ate lunch at the Weinermobile and the food was delicious and not overly pricey. I purchased a family membership for the year and the kids and I are looking forward to many visits in the months to come.

“History of America, Live”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 29, 2013

This museum provides a live history of American innovation and industrialization. The name suggests it's only about Ford but what you get is a super interactive history of America's industrial growth this century as well as the two previous ones.

There are two main exhibits, the interior filled with trains, planes, and automobiles of all brands, shapes, and sizes as well as a live early 20th century village complete with operating cars, trains, and farms.

The interior exhibit inside focuses on the development of technology and how the car industry grew over the century. It includes some special exhibits like several presidential limousines including JFK's as well as agricultural machines, sewing machines, and furniture. The village allows you to interact with people dressed in period style and visit old houses, schools, and farms. And the train ride should also not be missed because it uses an old steam engine.

Every time we go the kids have loads of fun. But the fun extends to adults as well so this is the perfect family adventure. The only thing we haven't done yet is the plant tour which is I am told equally amazing.

“A NOT to be missed attraction!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 26, 2013

It took us almost 5 hours to go through the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village, we’re therefore grateful we didn’t purchase the other ticket to the plant as there wouldn’t have been any time to go visit it anyway. The museum is everything a car “aficionado” like me could ask for. It well represents American History through cars (which one would obviously expect considering the very important name it has), and much more. Here at the Ford Museum is like getting into a time machine and stepping back in time. They have carriages, cars, farm machines, trains, bicycles, and last but not least some other very important cars that have been a silent witness of history making, like the car where President Kennedy was assassinated. Other than that, for those of you who like to read about curious things, Henry Ford’s personal collection also includes: The rocking chair from Ford's Theater in which President Lincoln was sitting when he was shot; A collection of several fine 17th and 18th century violins including a Stradivarius; Thomas Edison's alleged last breath in a sealed tube; The bus on which Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat, leading to the Montgomery Bus Boycott; Bill Elliot's record-breaking race car clocking in at over 212 MPH at Talledega in 1987.
