The museum at The Herny Ford is quite an array of historic exhibits, that will take you back in time. There are so many areas of artifacts and historic items, it's hard to pick out a favorite. Of course, the automobiles are the stars for me, as well as the entire transportation section of the museum. They had an exhibit featured on the cars of Rock n Roll that I found to be particularly special. Along with Elvis' Cadillac, there were cars from Rick Nielson of Cheap Trick, the ZZ top Eliminator, Snoop Dogg's tricked out limo etc. We also got our pictures taken in Rosa Park's seat on the PTA bus that started the civil rights movement. There was JFK's limo, everything you could imagine. You could easily spend more than a day in there if you wanted. Definitely a must see!

A great insight to the automobile history and the vision of Henry Ford.
The Museum has selective vintage cars, planes, steam engines and historical transport pieces like Presidential Limos-Kennedy car , Rosa park bus, Lincoln Theater chair etc.

A good place to take children for the educational value and also for tourists.
There is lots to see and one day also seems less. It worth visiting more than once since there is greenfield village just adjacent to the museum.
However not a fan of the dining options available.

The Museum has some wonderful displays and all are accompanied by detailed information boards and many with audio and visual displays. It is huge and thus even with large crowds it is easy to see the displays. The steam engines were massive and you can get right on board. For us in our mid 60's the Kennedy limousine was an eerie display. I was tat the museum a few years ago and it seems to me that the many of the exhibits had been changed or updated and that was impressive. The presentation on the civil rights movement was very well done and the presence of the Rosa Parks bus was a highlight for us (you can get right on board and sit in the seat selected but this wonderful lady). If you are in the area you have to go but I must say the Detroit area has the worst highways with the shortest on ramps in the world so be careful driving there.
The Greenfield Museum was closed for the winter and we must try to get there sometime in the summer.

My wife and I took a two day get away last month and went to Dearborn Mi. We had never been there before but had read good things about the Henry Ford.
The museum can easily fill an entire day, the collection is eclectic, well displayed and maintained.
If you are a train buff the collection includes an Allegheny class steam locomotive. If you are a steam buff there a a dozen different steam stationary engines, and if you are a history buff there is Lincoln's chair from the Ford theatre.
I think the Henry Ford would have enough interesting things for all ages that a family could have a very good day there.

We were visiting our son at the University of Michigan and on a day when he had a full slate of classes, we came over to this wonderful museum. My husband and I spent approximately six hours here and could have easily spent another two. It has so much to see to appeal to young and old alike. The cars, trains and planes are wonderfully interesting, even if you think you wouldn't like them. We would love to come back when Greenfield Village is open.
