Description: The Bakers Arms, Blaby was built in 1485. Now serving food 7 days a week. We serve traditional and non-traditional English cuisine with a modern day flair that is sure to be appealing to the eye and pallet. We are an Artisan Pub/Restaurant supporting and supported by the local community. The atmosphere is welcoming and satisfying to the senses. But beware, if you are on the tall side as you move through this historic building with the low ceilings and beams as they can be stunning in more ways than one. We cater to all occassions and have an extensive menu sure to please. Serving lunch 7 days a week and dinner Mon - Sat. Reservations are suggested. See our website for full details. We look forward to serving you. Chris, Edward and The Bakers Arms Team

“A good experience ”
Reviewed April 21, 2014 via mobile

This is one of our local pubs.
It is a warm and friendly pub with a large beer garden. It is a very popular pub with the locals so if you want to get a table for dinner then do book in advance or eat early.

The staff are well dressed and their service is great. Ever so friendly and they do give good advice on food & wines.

The tables are spaced out just right, you feel comfortable but not crushed in or sat in a vast empty space. A written menu is provided in a leather binder and the specials written on a large blackboard which is all very well presented.

The food is very well presented and tastes as good as it looks. It isn't the cheapest place to eat and you can easily spend over £50 on dinner for 2. Your dining experience will not leave you disappointed as you will enjoy everything from start to finish.

Do note that it is a very very busy pub on weekends and sunny evenings due to the spacious garden and it's well located spot in Blaby for all of the locals to grab a pint or two before/after dinner.

“Great food”
Reviewed April 5, 2014

I've been here for lunch a couple of times recently with friends. The food was very good on both occasions. The menu had changed this last time and I ordered the duo of lamb. Cooked to perfection and deliciously tender. The waiter was attentive and very pleasant. The manager talked with real passion about his team of staff. The only thing I don't like about this place is the building. It's an old cottage with small dark rooms, low ceilings and beams which, I feel, makes it oppressive. The outside is a bit shabby, but probably gets smartened up for outside use in the summer

“Not what we hoped”
Reviewed March 29, 2014 via mobile

Walked there this afternoon. Bar busy, restaurant dead but staff not willing to help serve despite carrying out various jobs behind the bar. Very poor service. Visit not helped by drunk youths in the garden but to be fair that's not the staff's fault. Won't be rushing back though

“Great Lunch”
Reviewed March 20, 2014

Went for Lunch with my nan and we both order sandwiches which came with chunky chips and a salad. They use artisan breads in the sandwiches, you get a choice of brown or white. we both had brown. I had pork , apple sauce and stuffing, and my nan had a ploughman's sandwich. they both looking fantastic when they came to the table and tasted as good as looked. admittedly the prices are a little expensive but I believe if you want a special lunch then this is well worth it. well recommended for anyone looking for a special lunch
