We loved our stay at Crown. Beautiful rooms, atmosphere, pool and amenities. We upgraded our room for city/pool/river views and I'm so glad we did, the view was just stunning, day and night. We didn't want to leave and can't wait to visit again. More

Non Smoking Room
Was in a non smoking room, but the next section of rooms were smoking. Kept coming into my room, horrible smells.
No warning from staff that I would be next to a smoking room, quite annoyed about the stay.

Make sure you are away from these rooms.

Bit disappointed really.
We were "upgraded" to the Metropol as the Prominade messed up our reservations. I fail to see how the Metropol is an upgrade as, despite the seemingly high end facade, the rooms are really no better than a standard suburban hotel. The aircon can't be controlled from within the room so there was constant noise from the fan all night. There are bright red light in the Carpark that permeate the room (411) all night despite the curtains being closed. Nescafe 43 bean coffee in the room! Really? Why even bother? No amenities packs as per other Crown hotels. The list can go on.
Now that I think about it, it's quite sub standard and over priced really.

Lobby Lounge High Tea
6 of us had the High Tea on a Friday lunchtime, we went for the non alcoholic option of shared savoury and sweet tower and coffee or tea. There was plenty of food, we even took some desserts home in the provided cardboard boxes, staff were excellent and for $55 for 2 people well worth it.

Better for couples than families
Unfortunately the beds were only 2 queen size and not very comfortable - hard. My husband slept on the floor.

Kids club was not manned and meant for kids 12 and over however the room was filled with kids suited to 5 year olds. Slides were closed but were opened on request.

Kids really enjoyed the heated pool and indoor pool. Not much else for kids to do. There is a park not too far away and if you go in summer you could enjoy the outdoor cinema for a little extra.

Couldn’t enjoy the most economical buffet restaurant carvers as it was located within the casino. Drinks are included there but not at other establishments for dinner or lunch. Thankfully there was a McDonald’s in the food hall.

Staff were friendly and check in and out was easy, valet parking was included as was breakfast in Atrium. Nice, but better on a Sunday morning.

Spa suites unavailable for people in twin rooms, but nice big bath and shower.

Kids loved the glass elevators and how “fancy” the hotel was.

Overall expensive for what it was, not good value, for those with kids.

If travelling without kids, you cold more easily enjoy the venues available, pubs, clubs, casino, fine dining, theatre etc....however more services for children and families are required.

Crown staycation
Staying for one night only at Crown and enjoying a game at nearby Optus stadium felt like a much longer stay. Early check-in and late check out enabled us to take full advantage of the gorgeous walks around the river. Staff made us feel like royalty and in-room dining was a perfect way to finish the day.
