“good value when on special”
Reviewed February 16, 2014

we stayed here a few weeks ago and found this to be nice and clean, quiet and it was only 1 min away from the casino, all we did was cross a road........however we only paid $129 for 1 night in a queen bed room ,my son paid as there was a special on at the time.......I would not rate the room 5 star I think its a bit overrated, I would stay here again if there was another special on again.......there was no breakfast included in this deal..so you can go to the casino for buffet breakfast ......

Stayed for 2 nights at Promenade, check in was very ordinary and uninformative.
Compendium is out of date and very lacking in information.
$40 for Valet park, $20 if you want to do it yourself
$49 if you want to use pool at Metropole, $49 if you want to use gym at Metropole (per head)
There is complimentary Wi Fi but no one tells you
Staff can be helpful and polite but just doing what they are trained to do
At the prices I would definitely look elsewhere when visiting Perth again
If you must stay , go the Metropole instead of feeling like the poor cousin at the Promenade..

Room Tip: Best room is somewhere else in Perth

The prices that the hotel charges indicates that it is a decent 4 star hotel, however I would compare it more to a travel lodge, premier inn, or a holiday inn.

The bloke on reception seemed disinterested and as unhelpful as he possibly be, the room was small, unimaginative, and the bathroom was small, with a shower over the bath which was capable of getting me wet but not much else.

All in all it did the job but I certainly wouldn't bother staying here again, Perth must have better hotels.

Room Tip: pick a different hotel

We stayed here as we had a Christmas function at The Merrywell and didn't want to pay the price for The Metropol. The rooms were clean but very average , the check in was easy but the pool was cold and very small. I think there is better hotels for the money, unless you want to stay on the Crown complex.

Have stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions - was previously a Holiday Inn but renamed when acquired by Crown. The Hotel is about 2 kms (1.2 miles) from the city centre but has the advantage of being part of the Burswood Gaming complex. This advantage is the restaurants that are available - Rockpool Bar & Grill and Guillaume to name two. It is also on the banks of the Swam River and has great access to bike, walking and running tracks. The real problem is thin walls - on my recent stay one of my colleagues was disturbed by loud talking (at 2 am) in the next room - took two calls to reception to fix. I had a similar problem the following night but this time by someone taking a bath - who takes a bath at 3am!! The noise was such that I thought water was running through my room, Despite the issues re noise I will continue to stay here as it is convenient for my work Generally the hotel is a 3 star trying to make out it is a 4 star. The rooms are large and well equipped and the recent addition of FREE Wi-Fi is a bonus. The bar is nice with an average wine list (important to me) and the restaurant is OK when compared to what is available nearby.

We stayed on the 20th as it was my wife's birthday and we were dining at Nobu and live 100km from Perth.

I will start by the staff are very good. I could not find fault.

We stayed in a spa suite and have to say it is very tired. There is no way that this can be regarded as a four star hotel. I would say closer to a struggling three. By the way, I stay in hotels a lot as my work means I travel the equivalent of round the world every month.

The room was of a good size but the furnishings were poor, scuffed, mismatched and just generally poor.

It's a shame as the room layout is excellent with the spa bath having a full size window to the main bedroom. But it was spoilt by the view then being of tacky furnishings.

If you are going to Burswood for a special occasion then I would recommend the Mteropol.

The hotel Promenade room was excellent with air conditioning.I could not fault the staff. From the cleaners to the front desk they were perfect with the best manners and treated my friend and myself very well.

Room Tip: If you have a disability ask for a room more suited as to have a shower you have to get over a high...
