Very good dining experience. The restaurant is somewhat off the main road, but definitely worth finding. We visited for Valentine's Day Lunch.
The restaurant facilities are very comfortable and not overcrowded like some places that cram everyone into a small room like coach seating on an airplane. Smallish bar area but we were not there for a beergarten experience. Perhaps a trivial thing for some folks, but the bathrooms are clean and well maintained; always a good sign that the management cares about cleanliness.
Service was attentive but not overbearing and our server paid attention to small details like drink refills and condiments. We didn't feel rushed, especially on Valentine's day since the restaurant was starting to get crowded for the dinner rush.
Food was very tasty. We don't mind paying good money for good food, but too many times we are disappointed by bland food that tastes like buffet or cafeteria fare. Not here! Everything from the dinner rolls to our entrees were prepared to a fine level of detail and very tasty. We had the Calamari appetizer which is award winning for good reason because it was delicious. My wife had the lamb chops, prepared perfectly which she thoroughly enjoyed. I didn't even get a taste. Portion sizes are reasonable and satisfying but not too much to become overstuffed. If you're looking for quantity, visit a buffet.
We will definitely be back for a visit and would love to try the stone fire pizza. It looked good.
For the value, we felt very satisfied. This is not a large chain restaurant like many others in the area and perhaps only a little bit more money than Outback, Olive Garden, Red Lobster. Honestly, those other reataurants are just glorified fast food anyway. It was refreshing to find J. Baldwin's, a restaurant with a well prepared meal.
