Description: There is a doughnut shop and bakery in Clare, Michigan that has been in constant operation since 1896. This foundation business was within weeks of closing when the members of the Clare Police Department came to the rescue. All of them. That's right, all nine members of the local police department banded together to save this historic business.Dubbed "Cops and Doughnuts," the business boasts handmade confections of all types. Join us for a warm fresh doughnut and a steaming cup of Cops Coffee while you enjoy the police decor and friendly, and very safe, atmosphere. Come and see the new store in Clare that everyone is talking about.Since opening as Cops & Doughnuts our business has expanded in to other adjoining store fronts allowing us to ad the "Cop Shop" our apparel and souvenir shop. And the "Traffic Stop Diner" featuring many American Diner favorites.

“Good job Greg”
Reviewed October 17, 2012

I liked that the police were able to make fun of themselves. They actually had an officer in there trying to order the staff around. I don't know where they got such a good actor to play the pathetic police officer. They had me fooled at first but then I realized that no self respecting police officer would act that stupid. Good job Greg do you do birthday parties.

“Food Delicious”
Reviewed October 12, 2012 via mobile

The pulled pork sandwich was tender and juicy. It had a smoked flavor that was not overpowering - just delicious.

No one cleared tables - several customers (including us) cleared a table to sit down.

But if you can get past that it was a very good lunch.

“neat idea”
Reviewed October 10, 2012

This is a Neat idea I am surprised someone hasn't done it before. The donuts are really not my fair but the shop had some real cool T-shirts and they have fake cops that act all macho and wierd . They did a real good job I wasn't sure if they were actors or not but my Husband rightly concluded real Police uniforms would fit better and real police would be in better shape. I really like the concept!
