Reserved a room with 2 Queens. When checking in, was offered a "free upgrade" because it was my first time staying there. Great. We carried all our bags up to that "upgraded" room, which was nothing but a room with a king-sized bed, which we didn't want. Carried all our bags back down and we were given our original room. Carried all our bags to that room and the keys didn't work. Back to the front desk, then back to the room. Once in, I was disappointed. While the sheets looked clean, the bedding sort of smelled like old clothes (because we all know the sheets get washed, but not the rest of the bedding after each guest stay). The cart the fridge and microwave were on was broken and leaning backward and there was a visible layer of dust along the baseboards. Breakfast in the lobby area was good. We had a rare bit of April snow overnight, which left the sidewalks very slippery and ice-covered and no one at the hotel treated those sidewalks. Overall, I was not impressed. Was only there because a family member had surgery at the hospital in town and I wanted to be close rather than driving back and forth from home. Finally, I am a Holiday Inn Priority Club member.
