We stayed at the Chelsea House this past weekend when we were attending a football game in Ann Arbor. The rooms were beautifully decorated and incredibly comfortable and of course the breakfasts were delightful. Jim and Kim were great hosts giving us directions to the best cider donuts I have ever eaten!

As others have mentioned we had a delicious dinner at the Common Grill (this was lobster week and the risotto was fabulous, but my husband couldn't get enough of the bread!) and then we attended the play at the Purple Rose Theatre (not really my style of play, but the playhouse was very nice and the house was full). After the game and dinner in Ann Arbor on Sat., we came back to Chelsea (about a 10-15 min drive) to Zou Zou's coffee shop where we really enjoyed the live music and ice cream.

I am glad we stayed in Chelsea and not Ann Arbor! It was great to go into town, but what made our weekend really special was to be able to get away from it all too!

Chelsea House is one of THE top B&B we have ever experienced ! Beautiful restoration and attention to detail beyond belief in each and every room ! Owners, Jim and Kim provide all the comforts of home and go out of their way to please with delicious breakfasts !
It's within short walking distance to the best in restaurants ( The Common Grill for one ) and entertainment ( The Purple Rose Theater )
Chelsea was the perfect place to stay for our first visit to the Ann Arbor Art Festival. We loved it all and will be returning many times!

The Carriage House is perfect if you want your own intimate atmosphere but with the bed and breakfast charm. The proprietors bring breakfast to you! It's so nicely appointed, cozy and 2 minutes walk from the Common Grille (a fantastic restaurant) and the Purple Rose Theatre (of Jeff Daniels fame). Makes for a perfect weekend retreat!

My wife and I had a delightful stay here for our wedding anniversary. The Inn was meticulously restored by its owners Jim and Kim Myles and staying here is like taking a trip back in time. We were surrounded by period pieces and antique touches everywhere, while enjoying all the modern amenities and even a claw-foot tub in our room (the Glazier Suite).
The owners even provide a turndown service with chocolates on the pillows.
In the morning Jim prepared his signature fruit crepes, that were just the first course of a wonderful breakfast.
Staying here is the perfect complement to the other two not-to-be-missed activities in Chelsea, a dinner around the corner at the Common Grill (owned by chef Craig Common) and a play at The Purple Rose Theatre (owned by Jeff Daniels).
For families, there is the Carriage House, attached to the Inn, which has a separate bedroom, a full kitchen and a living room with a pullout, queen-size sofa.

We stayed here for a quick-one night getaway...and would definitely go back. The owners, Jim and Kim, were very welcoming when we arrived. We were given a tour of the house on our way to our room. We stayed in the tower suite, which was huge. The room was immaculate, as was the rest of the house. Jim had called ahead for reservations at The Common Grill, a local restaurant with fantastic food. We enjoyed a glass of wine in the backyard gazebo, and went to a show at the Purple Rose Theater, which is on the next block from the inn. Everything was within walking distance. Breakfast the next morning was delicious, and we sat and chatted with Jim. This was our first time staying at a B & B, and it was a wonderful experience.

Great hsopitality. We were upgraded from a room to the Carriage House. The Carriage House is really a suite with a full kitchen, living area, and bedroom. It was a special treat. We all enjoyed the delightful breakfasts and no one went away hungry. The accommodations were really special. We hope to stay there again.

The Chelsea House Victorian Inn in Chelsea, MI is a great place for a business meeting or a romantic weekend with a significant other.

I have booked the entire inn for two weekend business meetings and plan to do it again. The living room in the carriage house made a great place to have informal discussions at our most recent meeting and we used the gazebo in the backyard as our meeting place at a previous event. Jim Miles is an attentive host who arranged for catering our luncheon and other meeting details.

One block southwest from the Chelsea House is the Common Grill, one of the best restaurants in Michigan. One block southeast is the Jeff Daniel's famous Purple Rose Theater. Staying at the Chelsea House, eating at the Common Grill and then seeing a play at the Purple Rose is the trifecta of the Chelsea experience.

In addition, Chelsea has many interesting shops, hiking, golf and other activities nearly.
