“Yummy Sunday Brunch with a Pretty View”
Reviewed June 23, 2013

Black Mountain Lodge serves a very nice Sunday Brunch from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Their buffet featured a selection of fresh fruit, three kinds of meat, biscuits and gravy, assorted pastries and breads, but the highlights were the omelette bar (try the Greek) and the made to order pancakes (today they had plain or strawberry).

Worth the drive to enjoy a nice brunch and the pretty view of Twin Lakes from the dining room.

“Love to eat here!”
Reviewed June 17, 2013 via mobile

Whenever I want a great dinner for a special occasion - most recently my brothers birthday - I go to blank mountain lodge. The menu is always changing and every dish always delights. Their buffet is the only buffet I like in Northern Michigan. They have a chef who makes you any omlet - the buffet is typically for breakfast or brunch.Love love love coming here. Recommend it 100%

“don't eat here”
Reviewed June 5, 2013

The restaurant is closed except for Sunday brunch. When we called earlier in the day to see if we needed reservations for dinner, we were not told about this. The bar food is TERRIBLE. No one in our party of six enjoyed our meal. Tasted like food was bought at GFS or Walmart and reheated. Way overpriced for what you get. The bar does serve beer from the Cheboygan brewery, so it's worth stopping for a drink if you're in the area.

I personally apologize for any misunderstanding regarding the Lakeview dinning room.
The Lakeview dinning room is a banquet facility at this time.
Uses: Weddings, business meetings, private parties etc...
Our fabulous breakfast buffet is on Sunday from 9am-noon as an exception.
The food we purchase comes from one of the finest food distributors in Michigan. The meat we use CAB certified Angus beef, and licensed to do so.
I for one as a customer and restaurant owner would tell management of a poor or less than satisfactory experience at the time of the experience.
1 Customers perspective: to be taken care of
2 Business owners perspective : to take care of the customer
We at the Black Mountain Lodge take pride in customer satisfaction.

“The Local Getaway”
Reviewed May 17, 2013

We have a cabin on Twin Lakes about 1.5 miles from the Eagles Nest. Everytime we come north, a visit to EN is the norm. The best thing about the EN is that you can walk in flip-flops, gym shorts, and a t-shirt and feel right at home. We come in right off the lake with no problem. The burgers are great. The beer selection is awesome. Russ and Wally take the time to talk to as many people as possible. The bands rock on the weekends. Once you walk in the open decor and see that lake out the front window, your stress level goes to zero. Anyone staying in the Twin Lakes/Black Lake area has to put this place on their "to do" list. I hope to enjoy the Eagles Nest for many years to come.

“Real Nice Dinner at the BML”
Reviewed August 15, 2012

My husband and I dined recently at the Lakeside Dining Rm at BML. I am compelled to write as I have read some rather scathing reviews. Our dinner was great. The service was very good, The restaurant wasn't crowded which made us wonder why with such a nice atmosphere, food, etc. maybe there is some problem with consistency(?) In Aug, 2012, we dined there on 2 separate occassions and both meals were very good. Actually, the potatoe encrusted walleye was the best walleye I have ever had. It was extremely fresh, prepared excellently and presented with garlic-mashed potatoes, a nice side salad, rolls with maple-walnut butter (yummy!!) and nice veggies. Another nite, we dined on the rainbow trout with crab stuffing, steamed mussels for an appetizer and it too was a wonderful dinner. Please, give this place a try. It's a gem, hidden away in a beautiful natural setting. The owners seem to be really trying to make this place a wonderful, special getaway experience.
