Stayed in Grandpa's Loft - room was spotless. Food was excellent. Service was great! One day I came in from fishing, knowing I had missed breakfast - and not expecting it. However, Rae and Deb got all the stuff back out and made me breakfast anyway! What wonderful hostesses! I also needed a fishing license so Rae got on her computer and walked me through the process. In 15 min I had my license. The wine and snacks in the afternoon were great too. All around it was a great stay with very easy walking distance to downtown. The only constructive criticism I have is that Grandpa's Loft (which looks as if its been recently remodeled) needs some hooks in the bathroom and in the bedroom to hang clothes on.

Room Tip: As their advertising says, a couple rooms do not have a private bath.

We enjoyed our stay here very much. The location was awesome! We parked our car the first night, and didn't move it. A couple minutes of walking got us to the downtown area, the marina, or to Lake Michigan. The innkeeper, who I understand has been newly hired, was wonderful and very accommodating. She went out of her way to make our stay comfortable and pleasant. The food was good, and the little extras she provided like complementary wine and crackers in the evening, and a small fridge filled with water and snacks during the day were very much enjoyed. The house was neat and clean, and we found our stay very comfortable and enjoyable. The front porch was lovely to sit on as well. We will definitely stay here again if we ever come back to Charlevoix.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Lake Breeze suite, and enjoyed the extra sitting room that it had, along with a bit...

This is a true bed OR breakfast!!!! Advertising didn't meet reality. View of drawbridge was non existent along with the view of Lake Michigan. The inn keeper regaled us our first afternoon for at least 30 minutes about checking beds for bedbugs and how the cleaning help doesn't do her job. First morning there we were to wake up to a breakfast to be served at 830 a.m. Of biscuits and gravy, hash brown casserole, etc. At 930 a.m. We decided to go find our own breakfast since there was no smells of this great breakfast cooking. While the inn keeper was lying on the beach we were purchasing our own toilet paper, glasses and ice because there weren't any for guest use available. Don't expect clean towels daily either. At least in a $50 dollar a night room you have glasses ice and toilet paper supplied. The beds were pretty comfortable and the guests staying during our visit were very nice people.

My husband and I were looking for a B&B for one night this summer. We phoned the Bridge Street Inn and spoke with the innkeeper. We were quite sure that we required our own bathroom and the innkeeper promised that our room came with it's own private bathroom. Once we arrived and checked in, she broke it to us that we would be sharing the bathroom with another gentlemen and to "no worry, she knows him, he won't be around that much." The place was kind of dirty, I noticed many spots and stains on the walls. When checking out with the innkeeper, I shared that I thought it was not right that she promised a private bathroom, and then did not deliver. She assured me that she would not be providing a discount and was very very rude and terse. I would never stay here again and thought it was important that others know about this terrible service.

Im not a big B&B person and this one was very disappointing. The innkeeper was nice enough but was only there for breakfast and from 3:00 to 7:30 good luck if you need anything in the evening. Say ice or toilet paper. Check in is at three and they mean it no amount of calls or door bells will get someone's attention until 3:00. They also were trying very hard to save on the cooling bill we had to turn the air conditioning on ourself. The Inn is old and worn and could use some fixing up our bathroom door would not shut. It was fairly clean and comfortable. The location is excellent but the main street is right in front (thus the need for air conditioning). Lake Charlivoix has a drawbridge so every vehicle large and small passes though.

This inn was very disappointing. We have stayed in many B and B's and this one was not up to standard. The carpet going up the stairs and in both hallways was very old, very worn, and quite dirty. What a turnoff!! The walls going up the stairs had many cracks and poor attempts at fixing them. Our room also had many cracks in the walls. The bathroom linoleum floor was discolerd , especially black looking around the shower. The outside of the shower showed a lot of corrosion. The sink was very, very old. It had separate faucets for hot and cold. The long wrap around porch needed to have the railing painted. It was quite chipped up. It doesn't appear that anyone is caring for this place. It is in need of lots of TLC. On the positive side, the bed was comfortable, breakfast good and the cookies at bedtime were a nice touch. Tripadvisor state rates are $50 to $115. Their online sight says $99 to $199. Were we're charged $149 for a mediocre, small room. Would definately not stay here again.

We have stayed in many B&Bs over the years...they are the best way to travel and get personal insight into an area. This is not the case with this B&B. Our innkeeper was cordial upon arrival our first night but indifferent the next morning at breakfast. The Inn is definitely in need of some good cleaning and TLC. The stairway and hall carpeting is so worn and dirty and the wrap around porch is most uninviting. An old ceiling leak in our room left the ceiling tiles hanging. Breakfast was mediocre. It was not worth the money we paid. We enjoyed Charlevoix immensely but would definitely not return to The Bridge Street Inn.
