We had a super waitress, Krista. She was fun and efficient. Yes it is noisy and crowded but a fun place for lunch. Fish and sweet potato chips are very good. Chicken pot pie is also yummy . We think it is worth the wait and crowd.

Perhaps some of the worst service that I have ever experienced at a restaurant/pub. The first day we visited this establishment we actually played along with it and had fun with the waitress. After learning that some of my companions went back for a second round of abuse, I thought it would only be proper to let others know that downtown Charlevoix has much finer establishments to visit in which you can get good food and drink without the hassle.

Food was good and reasonably-priced. Human contact with restaurant employees (server, hostess) however, was frigid or non-existent. Is is so tough to make eye contact with customers? Come back once or twice to ask "How is everything?" Would that someone would have asked us, upon check-out, "Was everything okay?" We're "easy customers": polite, clean, and considerate. We're also "year-rounders," who would come back several times a month if we were made to feel welcome. Try to make your service match the quality of the food (i.e., make us feel valued and welcome), and we'll do that.

The food and service were good. It was very busy and we had to wait longer than we wanted. Our server was very pleasant.

If you are looking for a really good whitefish and chips in Northern Michigan, you can't beat the busy local favorite, Villager Pub! It's not glamorous; but, you do get the true Up North feeling. Very reasonable prices and ask for the back room if you are looking for a quieter place to sit. There is plenty of non-meter parking west of Bridge Street. Watch out for the bridge on US#31 (Bridge Street, of course) going up on the half hour and the hour.
