“Halloween weekend”
Reviewed October 22, 2012

Always a good time with family and friends. We make reservations every year for Halloween weekend. They offer wagon rides, many activities for kids of all ages. And the decorations from the campsites are always fun to look at.

“Stay could have been better”
Reviewed October 13, 2012

Spent one night here and enjoyed seeing the Halloween decorations throughout the park.
Nice walkway to the beach across the highway with additional hiking trails.
Very view sites were level in the park which could cause problems setting up camp.
Lack of staff supervision allowed noisy campers to keep us awake until 1:00am.
Thought this problem was solved with the Passport purchases bringing in more income for staff?

“Real nice state park”
Reviewed September 20, 2012

We stayed here during the Cheeseburger in Caseville festival. This park was full of fellow parrotheads, aqnd everybody was friendly. Roads are a bit narrow, wo you have to be careful if you have a big rig.

“Wont be going back”
Reviewed August 27, 2012

My girlfriend and I decided to camp for the weekend. I have been to Caseville many times but this was the 1st time camping at Sleeper State Park. We were in a tent surrounded by 5th wheels (camper trailers). The sites are too close together and there is ZERO privacy.
You can forget about sitting around the fire talking after 11pm as well. Because the sites are so close together some old big mouth will tell you to quiet down even when you're at a mere whisper.

Also only 2 showers. Really?

We left a day early to come back. Forget this place.

“Boring campground, peaceful beach.”
Reviewed August 26, 2012

Just wanted to concur with the reviewer who posted on 7/23/12, we also commented that these sites are way to crammed together and there are not enough trees to give any privacy. Also the traffic noise at highway speeds behind the campground is audible all night. We were lucky enough to have sites around the outside perimeter which is the only place I'd recommend. The inner strips are packed and not private. A mix of campers, pop ups and tent campers. Lots of well behaved dogs. The bathrooms were very updated and clean. Tiny playground just some swings, not worth mentioning really.
The beach across the street (walkable) is lovely and calm which attracts a lot of kayakers and families. We spent all day at the beach, but bring an umbrella or source of shade. And a table if you want to set up lunch as there is no shade and no picnic tables. No food for sale either that we could find but there is a party store nearby with snacks and ice, etc.
The great beach, and easy 2.5 hr drive from metro Detroit, modern bathrooms/showers, and that it allows dogs, makes this place an attractive choice, but that's about all it has going for it.
