A great place to stay, made us feel right at home! The hot cider and cookies in the evening was a great plus!! We were there during a snow storm, which is typical for Upper Michigan in winter. The only thing that could have been better was to start plowing the parking lot and sidewalks a little sooner. Overall a great place to stay!

The stay was OK, just overnight. Probably would not bother to review if not for check in.

Wanted to pay cash, OK. Wanted $150 deposit, no problem. Reciept for deposit? No one has ever asked for that before! Apparently they just hand over $150 in cash there without question. C'mon.

21st century to hotel manager: I know in the 70's someone figured out that ultra rock hard mattresses last longer so they cost less. At the turn of the last century many chains discovered that 90% of the customers do not use the pool or the excersise room, but 100% use the bed. Go stay at the Holiday Inn and see what a hotel bed looks like.

They also discovered that it does not really cost that much to put the vending machines in a room with a bunch of insulation. It was nice to know that your ice machine was functional all night long.

On the plus side, the room was clean, the heat worked and the rate was reasonable.

Room Tip: Book early at another hotel.

Nice place. Clean. Comfortable. Quiet. Breakfast was very good. Good information available for tourists. They keep a detailed notebook of all things tourist in the lobby. Helpful staff. All the hotels in Houghton were full so we ended up here. We paid $106 / night in October. We would have preferred staying in Houghton, but this worked out fine.

Room Tip: Get a room on the first floor if you can.

Comfortable stay with nice staff! Clean rooms and a average breakfast. We have stayed at many AmericInn locations and this one is similar to others. Did not use the pool at all so cannot comment on that.

Got the last room at this lodge on the 26th of September. It's the first time I stayed at an AmericInn and It won't be my last. My wife and I enjoyed our brief one night stay. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful recommending the Michigan House for dinner just down the road. The breakfast was exceptional. The rates were very reasonable to top things off. Thanks.

This place truly caters to the tourist, at a very fair price. Loved all the thoughtful extras, from the basket of area menues to the jug of lemon water, cookies and the flavored coffees in the lobby. Breakfast bar is extraordinary.

The folks at this hotel were very nice and accommodating. Our rooms were very nice; the beds/pillows comfortable. Staff was helpful in recommending an eating establishment within walking distance. We were provided rags/towels to clean our motorcycles. Would definitely stay here again.
