“Super Snowmobile Destination”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2009

This hotel could not have been more accomodating for those seeking adventure on the snowmobile trails in the Cadillac area. The location makes a great home base and allows the kids that are not going to have a good time in the pool and hot tub. Everything was kept very clean. We were there with five families and everyone remarked how they went over and above the call of duty.

I would give this hotel 9 stars if I could! I have high standards when staying in a hotel and this place met them all!

The staff were outstanding and friendly, the entire hotel was immaculate! There hotel was so very, very clean - all 3 days we were there - spotless.

The room was large, very comfortable, great bedding, comfortable beds, great internet connection, etc. And very, very clean!

I would have enjoyed staying here longer and must say it was the BEST hotel I have ever stayed in!!!!

As truly wonderful and totally awesome as this place was, there are a couple of things that if done -this place would be 10 stars!

First, the pool is ice cold, unfortunately, so we only swam 5 minutes the first night. But the pool area is very large and the pool has a build in whirlpool - very nice.

Second, no frig or microwaves in the rooms. That is usually not a problem for us because we will just use the microwave in the lobby or breakfast area. However, there wasn't one there either! I have never heard of a hotel not having an available microwave.

But this is another area the staff were shining stars! The first night, clerk Rachel very cheerfully cooked our food in the microwave in the staff area behind the front desk wall. She even supplied us with silverware packets without us even asking - how nice of her!
Rachel also helped us by using the front desk computer to print off a webpage for us since the guest printer wasn't working.

I am still so impressed about how they did all these little extras for us and never once made us feel like we were an inconvience but they were so joyful to help out - like it was their pleasure to serve us. Amazing!

The second night, clerk Candance, also cooked for us in the staff microwave and was happy and cheerful just like Rachel. A truly incredible staff!

The third day, the manager Bonnie cooked for us and was just as happy and cheerful about it as her staff had been. She even graciously took our family photo infront of their gorgeous Christmas tree in the lobby when we asked since we were there on Christmas Day!

It was an increadible stay! There was also another wonderful lady working there but I didn't get her name -she worked in the breakfast area and also as a housekeeper. She acted like it was a pleasure and honor to clean our room, she made a special trip to bring us extra lotion we needed, and was a great compainion to chat with in the morning breakfast area.

The staff and cleanliness truly made all the difference for us. It was an amazing stay and I would be honored to stay here again.

  • Liked — The super friendly staff and the very, very clean hotel!
  • Disliked — Ice cold pool & no guest frig or microwaves.

This was a nice hotel, the rooms were clean which is THE most important thing to me! The whole Cadillac area seemed kind of pricey and I think next time we will stay in nearby Houghton Lake where we stayed on the way home. It has a lot more attractions for kids and better prices.

The check in/out was easy and the hotel staff was pleasant.

We were just passing through and it was a clean comfortable stay. The kids used the pool and it was great. The breakfast was adequate and there was enough room for everyone to sit.

We booked through Orbitz and I'm sorry we did because we found that the hotel's AARP rate would have been cheaper but Orbitz charges a $25 per room fee to change anything and even though it was a "lowest price guarantee" rate, they wouldn't refund the difference because they said it doesn't include "special rates" like AARP or AAA. I will never use them again.

  • Liked — The cleanliness of the rooms
  • Disliked — Beds were kind of soft for us

This Holiday Inn was so very nice. The size of it was larger than most Express sites. It was emaculate and the pool area was really large. I will definitely stop here again. Matresses were very nice to sleep on also. Not those hard floor types!! The breakfast had some added touches not standard fare. Better quality.

Stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Cadillac last week. As a business traveler, I wanted to get out of the snow and in to a warm place. This was it. Not only the temperature but the welcome I received at the front desk and to all the staff I saw during my short 10 hour stay.
very accomodating and helpful with directions. Room was comfortable.
Will be back next time through.
