“Excellent winery tour and restaurant experience”
Reviewed August 25, 2013

Visited Tabor Hill vineyard and restaurant with the Martin's Michigan Foodie Tour. Toured the vineyard and winery. Our tour guide did an excellent job explaining the various trellis systems and the wine process from harvest to the finished bottle. Tabor Hill wines have received many awards and has been served in the White House. Bob Hope ordered 80 cases of 24 bottles each for his 80th birthday.

Each participant in our tour was able to taste five different wines. We received a wine tasting guide. The wine tender gave additional information on each wine that we tasted. Wine tasting participants receive a discount of 10% on the purchase of three bottles of wine.

Our group also had dinner at the restaurant. My husband had the filet mignon with demi-glace and I had the crisp pecan chicken with raspberry sauce. Both were excellent.

“Great wine tasting; okay restaurant; so-so tour”
Reviewed August 6, 2013

Day One - we tasted wine before dinner. It cost us $12, but the wine-tender was excellent in helping us understand the types of wine and history. Worth the cost. Dinner was overpriced for what we got, but tasted pretty good. We shared a filet mignon dinner. Day Two - we came back for a tour (b/c we missed it the day before, ends at 4:30). Wasn't really worth our time. The tour was a little boring and we didn't get to be up close to the grapevines of taste a grape.

“Best winery on our Wine Tour”
Reviewed August 2, 2013

We recently did a wine tour of southwestern Michigan. We stopped at several wineries, but Tabor Hill in Buchanan was by far the best. We started with a delicious lunch on the patio which overlooks the vineyards. Frog legs, anyway! There's were great! I would also recommend the pecan crusted, cranberry chicken. YUM! Next we completed our wine tasting. $6/6 Our wine steward was knowledgeable and very professional. He gave us tips on how to store our wine. There is a candy counter if you want to pair chocolate with your samples and take some home with you. Also try their sparkling raspberry juice, and, for fun, add their Blanc-de-Blanc (like Proseco). If you ate at the restaurant, then you get a 10% discount on your wine purchases. They held our wine while we took their 30 minute wine tour including a trip to the edge of the vineyard. We felt that this tour was a little too short. We had asked for the guide to take our picture. Evidently, that took away from our tour time. Still we thought that the tour ended after about 20 minutes. It was worth it to hear the explanation about why vineyards are successful in that area. A young man then brought our wine to the car for us. Overall, a very pleasant way to spend an afternoon. Each of us bought a box of a variety of wines. It was by far the best winery that we had tried.

“Elegant inside w/Great Views”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

There is a nice fireplace inside. Considered very high class place to us "locals". Food is great and great wine and sparkling alcohol free drinks that r AMAZING! Menu is nice bc it's not like u have a million items to choose from and menu changes every day unless they have changed that. It's usually where we go for our anniversary every year in August. The grape fields are beautiful and smell so good in the fall. It's hard to find, easy to get lost bc its in the middle of no where. So watch for the signs carefully.

“Very pleasantly surprised”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

This is a very cute restaurant with a modern lodge feel at a winery. The tables, indoor and out, overlook the vines. You could picture yourself in a vineyard almost anywhere in the world (except for the lack of mountains of course). The food is delicious. We had the polenta fries with truffle aoli , chips with aged blue cheese, squash blossoms and margherita pizza served like bruschetta. All in a all an excellent afternoon meal with wine and a view. What could be better than that?
