Love the deli salad. It is huge, with a great combination of deli meats! Great staff, great people, great times!

oh, i love this deli! it's noisy and frantic but it smells like a deli should, devine, and the new dill pickles and chicken soup taste just right! and of course, there's that amazing rye bread with the twice baked crust.......my mouth waters just thinking about it and i just had breakfast.

Everything is truly good at Steve's, but I am tired of the servers acting as if they are doing you a favor to wait on you, being overly familiar (Hi Girls?!), and the last straw; when I asked to take my huge drink out with me, she brought a cup and lid, dropped the lid on the FLOOR, picked it up and handed it to me and took off. Apparently they aren't worried about customer safety or hygiene!

This is a crowded and busy place. The friendly help makes up for the hubbub. Besides, It's a deli! If you want a sedate dark booth, shuffle off to Ruby Tues or something. But the soup, sandwiches etc are interesting and are taste treats. Soups come with round toasted bagel chip vs saltines. You will want to ask for more and then take a bag 'o chips home - yummy. I have never had so many delicious noodles and chicken and carrots jammed in a soup. After the Matzo ball soup, you can die happy. You can get any sandwich wrapped in lettuce leaves vs bread. Try getting that substitute at any restaurant without the chef coming outta the kitchen with a cleaver. The only minus is the price. I did learn to get the half sandwich/soup combo but still - its a lot for lunch. But being Bloomfield and the classic Deli and flying in definitive all- time to die for Carnegie Deli Cheesecake (I hear) ... with all that ... the market bears what Steve charges. So I only go there at the end of a good week financially - to celebrate. Not a daily or weekly spot for the avg guy on a pension.

The food was good. There is a broad menu with something for everyone. Our server was inattentive and it was an effort to get her attention, even though they weren't busy at the time. We ran into a vendor near the bathroom who told us that he was having a hard time getting paid for what he sold to the restaurant. This was certainly not appropriate for him to tell the customers, but uh oh, right?
