We stopped in to check room availability during a busy weekend. The registration person, Jim Sayan, Guest Services Manager, told me that the only room available for that night was a jacuzzi suite. Because that was higher than we had hoped to pay, I told him I had to talk to my husband and I would be right back. I walked outside the door and came back in less than 30 seconds to tell him we would take the room. He said the room is no longer available. Obviously I was shocked. He said someone booked it online. I asked him how that could happen. He said first come, first served and that’s the way it goes. I asked him how priority could be given to someone online vs someone at his counter. He said there was nothing he could do about that. My husband went in to talk to him and he was very rude and unaccommodating.
We will never stay at a Hampton Inn again and we will certainly let everyone we know the Hampton Inn "first come, first served" policy.
