Dave the owner came out and sat at our table. Great guy interesting menu. The soup is the best part, take anything they offer. The wife loved the perch and grandmas home made pies. Definitely worth coming back for a second visit.

This is not your normal, 5 star restaurant. It is not classy, high end, or a dress up place. However, it is one of my favorite restaurants to go hang out with friends. There is a stuffed bear at the bar. There are maradi gras beads hanging there too. If this isn't the kind of place you wish to frequent, then don't go here. But you'll be missing out bc the food is amazing. I always order something seafood and have never been disappointed. The chef will actually come out and talk to you about your dinner beforehand if you have questions. My son has a gluten intolerance and he was very willing to accommodate us. The rolls they bring you before your meal were amazing!!!! The homemade desserts are fantastic. The soup of the day is always something delicious. I can't say enough good things. This should not be rated #12 in birch run, what a joke!! It should be top 3 at least, and not number 1 only because of its cheesy bar setting. Oh, did I mention they also serve wild game? Not my taste, but some people come just because of it.

We walked from a nearby hotel to grab a bite to eat and were greeted in the parking lot by a very rude man! It was the weekend of the Beer Expo and he probably thought our group was drunk...no one was drunk or out of control. When we were seated our waitress was very nice and said he didn't like this weekend and gets paranoid of rude customers. So we left because our experience started off terrible.

Have tried perch various places around but always come back to Oscar and Joeys. It is consistently excellent!
Dinners are served with a basket of warm rolls and fresh made banana bread. All pies are made fresh and are delicious! It is kind of pricey but when the food actually has flavor, i dont mind paying a little more, and the food always has flavor here!

Didn't look like much from the outside or inside, but, staff was really friendly, very downhome, food was good, and very different, there is wild game on the menu, a lot of different kinds of wild game, which was a shock, and very unexpected.
