We stayed overnight here on Sept. 13th. Check-in girl was nice and friendly. The room looked decent, but the bathroom was disgusting. The wallpaper was peeling off the walls in several places and there was black MOLD on the wall behind the peeling paper in the shower/tub area. The bed was hard and pretty uncomfortable. For a king-sized bed, there were 4 miniature pillows. They were like pillows for toddlers! Our room was on the first floor right across from the laundry room. At 4 a.m., the laundry employees were in the hallway, talking very loudly. Woke us up. Can't say anything about the breakfast because all I had was the coffee, which was decent. I suppose if you're used to eating chemically-laden commercial yogurt and white flour bagels, you'd like it. One more thing...Benton Harbor is very "seedy". We had no idea since we had never been here before. Pay the extra money and stay in St. Joseph.

There was nothing fancy here at the Comfort Inn and Suites. The place was clean, our room was good sized with a decent bathroom. Indoor pool was good for the kids and the breakfast was fine, but just like most places of this type and style. Service was fine. nothing bad to say...it was a reasonable place...price might have been just a touch high for what you get but it is nicely located for the region.

We stayed at the Comfort Suites for 1 night with our 2 young boys over Labor Day Weekend. Normally, when we visit a Michigan Beachtowm, we try to get something closer to the coast, but we really couldn't justify dropping several hundred dollars for only 1 night. Our room was a king with a pull-out sofa bed and cost about $169 + taxes.... Actually not a bad price considering it was a holiday weekend... The room was clean and reasonably spacious..... It had a microwave and a decent sized mini fridge, not the puny kind you sometimes see in a hotel room..... The king bed was very comfortable and the sofa bed was reasonable for 2 small kids.... As an adult, however, i would not want to sleep on it.

The breakfast was definitely above average---it had a nice selection of hot and cold items and also had protein---eggs and bacon..... The 2 ladies running the breakfast were EXCELLENT--they kept things moving and well stocked, AND, more importantly, they were very friendly, helpful and courteous to everyone. They seemed to enjoy their job. For me, having staff like that at a hotel makes a huge impression.

The pool/sauna/hot tub were pretty much standard issue, but the public areas (lobby and dining area) felt very inviting.... I think the fire place made the difference....

The location is just off I-94 and Pipestone Rd----not the most ideal location for vacation lodging, BUT, downtown St. Joe and the beaches are only 10 minutes away. We had a 3rd floor, west-facing room, which looked out to the freeway, nevertheless, it wasn't horrible as some reviews have made it out to be, plus we had a glimpse of the farm field across the road.... Benton Harbor has some rough areas, but where this, and several other hotels are clustered, it's not bad---several shopping malls and restaurants are nearby....

No major complaints, but i do have a few minor ones.... The AC unit in our room was very loud and vibrated a lot... Also, there was a rather large wedding party staying at the hotel... Unfortunately, one of the room parties was right next to our room.... They were somewhat discourteous and kept the up volume well past 11 PM.... We did complain (hey, we got 2 kids trying to sleep!!) and the party eventually quieted down.....

Room Tip: West faces the highway, east faces some kind of building... While no rooms face north or south, tho...

We had a nice room on the ground floor. The room was very clean. The gold color scheme was a bit 70ish, but with modern furnishings. I loved that there was several light sources throughout the room as well as multiple plug ins for data devices at the desk area in the room. We were a bit disappointed that the internet was not working the first night we stayed, but was repaired by morning. The breakfast was well maintained and came with lots of choices. The eggs were a bit rubbery for my liking. Other choices included fresh toast, cereal, make your own waffles, sausage, bagels, cereal, oatmeal and a variety of muffins and pastries. There really was something for everyone. I really want to give a shout out to Cody who worked at the front desk. Anytime we needed anything, he helped without delay. Also, one member of housekeeping was great in helping me find the ice machine, (only one on the 3rd floor) when I wandered out of my room with my low prescription glasses on. She was a great help since I couldn't read the signs to find my way to the ice machine. The one thing that really bothered us was having housekeeping enter our room while we were all sleeping. That was kind of scary. Housekeeping did knock, but didn't give us time to get to the door before entering the room. This happened about 9 am. We were due to check out at 11 am and felt like they should have waited until after check out time to clean the room. Next time I will verify that we put out the do not disturb tag on the door!

Wonderful breakfast, clean rooms and friendly staff. Housekeeping came in everyday of our 4 night stay and cleaned and gave us fresh towels. Always greeted by the front desk staff. Will stay there next year when we vacation

The staff was wonderful, helpful and friendly. The price in the summer is a bit pricey compared to other times of the year...then again...it is summer.

I would stay again. The room was clean, big enough to move around and not trip over anything.

The pool was a great, enjoyed that very much.

Breakfast was goo, had better at other comfort inn's but not bad.

Room Tip: The rooms with two queen beds are really roomy!!

I have stayed at this hotel twice over the past few years. Aside from being a great price, it's comfortable and very clean. The guest rooms are huge - both times I've stayed, we had a room with 2 queens beds plus a pull-out sleeper sofa. Excellent value for the money.

The only reason I didn't rank it 5 stars is because you do have to drive a bit to get to the beach, wineries, nice restaurant, etc. It's still well worth staying here because you get such a good value for your money.
