The Grand Victorian B&B
Ranked #3 of 4 Bellaire B&B and Inns
Reviewed August 30, 2013

Recently, we spent our anniversary at this beautiful B & B. Our room was spacious and decorated with antiques in the Victorian style in keeping with the time period of the house. The home is very clean and well maintained. The home itself has a unique history, which the owners are happy to share. We stayed two nights and had delicious homemade treats each day when we came back to our room. The breakfasts were decadent and substantial. Linda is a great cook! If you are looking for something to do in the evening, then Short's Brewery is within easy walking distance. The owners belong to the Short's mug club and will let you use their mugs. Water sports, wineries and shopping are all within a short drive. We have stayed at many B & B's. This is the best one! We will be back.

Room Tip: The Blossom Room is spacious with a fireplace, sitting area, four-poster queen bed and en suite bath...

Our most recent trip celebrating our anniversary was spent here at this B & B. This was our first visit to this one and will definitely not be our last. The house is absolutely beautiful and the innkeepers have done a great job at maintaining the authenticity of this place. Ken and Linda were a delight to meet and get to know. The breakfast was extravagant and delicious. The history lesson given by Ken was an added bonus. We stayed in the "Queen Anne" room and it was an awesome stay! We really didn't want to leave, but we did miss our children. We will definitely visit this B & B again!

Room Tip: Try to make sure you have your own bathroom

We have travelled around the world & have never seen a place that is so amazing! From the beginning to the end, the place is flawless...Ken is so interesting with all the history & Linda is a fantastic cook! We had reserved a small room & were a bit nervous about doing so...What a delight it ended up being...Very romantic with superb atmosphere lighting...We enjoyed the parade balcony enjoying our coffee & reading early in the morning...
The only downfall is, we didn't want to leave & gained a few extra pounds!

Receiving positive comments from experienced travelers such as yourself is always special! We travel often and strive to use what we find as "best practices" in operating our inn. Sharing your experience with others is greatly appreciated and we look forward to your return visit.

This is a true gem of a place to stay.

Beautiful room(s), friendly hosts, good food. In addition, the house has a really interesting history. Ask the owners - they will tell you. And it's all true. I checked. :-)

Ken and Linda were the best hosts imaginable! My wife and I stayed for our honeymoon for 3 evenings in the "Queen Anne" room and it was an awesome stay! The house is amazing and the history of it is fascinating to anyone that enjoys history. The breakfast was a delight each morning and something we looked forward to each day. Nice small town location and close to tourist destinations without the traffic and congestion of Traverse City which is about 45 minutes away. Highly recommended!!!

My wife and I received a gift card for a bed and breakfast as a thank you from our daughter. After much research we elected to stay at the Grand Victorian (GV) Bed & Breakfast in Bellaire, Michigan. If we stay at any other B&B I'm sure the other B&B will be compared to Grand Victorian, and the other one will come up wanting.

Our hostess, Linda greeted us like favored family members and showed us around GV and described each room. Our room had a nice private balcony porch, and fresh cookies awaited us on our bed.
We ate dinner at Short's Brewery in town and used the GV discounted mugs there for our beverages (I like Bellaire Brown).

I am an early riser so I was greeted by fresh coffee and newspaper in the hall near our bedroom. Coffee on the porch is a great way to wake up.

Breakfast is served at 0900. When we came into the dining room the table was set with the first course of fresh fruit with a double chocolate w/cherries muffin on the side.
Breakfast then included eggs, french toast, and baked bacon (not at all greasy like I usually cook it).

While we ate, our host, Ken gave a presentation about the origins of the house and town. This really brought the house "alive". The house, built in 1895 had electric lights originally installed.

Unfortunately a back issue kept me from exploring the town on foot. Perhaps another time.
My wife has already recommended Grand Victorian to a number of her friends. I don't think they will be disappointed.

Hi. We're glad you feel spoiled (although we like to refer to it as pampered). It's uplifting and encouraging to our staff to hear such positive comments. Once your back feels better we hope you'll return and try the things you missed out on during this visit - there's a lot to do in this quaint little town! Best regards.

We stayed at Grand Victorian Inn as part of our vacation. What a phenomenal place to stay. If you are looking for a little romance or just a cozy place to stay, this one is terrific. The Inn is incredibly cozy and comfortable. The main floor features 3 rooms that all filled with a different type of wood- chestnut, pine (real heartwood pine) and Bird's-eye maple.

Our room was fantastic. Cleanliness is crucial, and our room exceeded our expectations. This was a great place to relax and connect. There are plenty of places to relax- from the large wrap around porch to the gazebo to the sitting rooms in the home.
