“The Grand Victorian B&B”
Reviewed September 25, 2012

The home is an awesome example of Victorian architecture, and is well appointed by the owners. The rooms are well-kept and comfortable. The hosts, Ken and Linda, are helpful and attentive. The breakfast was sumptuous. The town it is in is charming, with a variety of activities for people with a wide-range of interests. My wife and I were there 13 years ago (it was under a different owner at the time) and it was definitely better the second time around.

My newly married husband and I were looking for a charming Bed and Breakfast to spend a very short honeymoon at. As soon as I saw the gorgeous picture of The Grand Victorian, I knew that's where we were going!! WOW!!! The Grand Victorian felt as if we had taken a trip back in time to the early 1900's. As soon as we entered the front door Ken was there to greet us with a warm welcome!! We loved all the Victorian furniture, the original wood moldings and doors, and the relaxing balcony attatched to our room. The house was quiet, cozy bed, relaxing atmospere, and our breakfast was phenominal!! Ken and Linda were such gracious hosts, and truly made our first few days as a married couple ones we will always remember fondly!

I usually don't take the time to make a review of places we've stayed, but in this case I will do a happy exception. This is one of the finest B&B's my wife and I have stayed in. Not only was the breakfast top class (plated meals), the inn was impecably clean and quiet. Ken and Linda were very welcoming, Linda preparing great meals, and Ken giving a detailed history of the house during breakfast. The area offers many things to do being a short drive to lakes, golf, skiing, whatever. Very accomodating people and a visit to remember. Thank you!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Balcony room. Reasonable, very nice, and a view!

Our traveling companions Andy and Gretchen had stayed at many B&B's over the years including the Grand Victorian, but this was our first time at any B&B, and it took quite a little convincing on their part :-) Their rave review of the Inn and its Owners Ken and Linda Fedraw seemed like it might be hard to live-up-to, but was absolutely spot-on!

The rooms and furnishings were very comfortable and definitely authentic and of the period, yet fresh and clean and in excellent condition. I never felt like I was in a 100 + year old home other than where it was intended :-) Enjoying Linda's specialty breakfasts each morning while Ken shared the fascinating history of the home and its previous owners was a great start to each day and not to be missed! Evenings on the large porch with other guests, (and occasionally Ken and Linda) a few adult beverages from Short's Brewery just down the street, or from one of the many nearby vineyards ended the day on a "high note" just like the start.

We thoroughly enjoyed literally every aspect of our 3-day stay at the Grand Victorian while exploring nearby areas and attending a classic sports car show in Alden We are now B&B fans thanks to the Grand Victorian and have already made reservations to return and stay for the 2013 Alden Classic Sports Car Show in our "Little British Sportscars".

Cheers,
Terry & Laura

We had a wonderful time with the hosts and also the other guests. The Grand Victorian has been very well maintained and has many areas to socialize in. The food was excellent along with the presentation of it. We were made to feel very special during our stay. Our room was very spacious and the bed was wonderful ~ we also had a balcony off our room so that we could sit and read the paper (delivered to our door) and have our coffee. Ken and Linda are excellent hosts for making you feel welcome and right at home.

Room Tip: Our room called the Balcony Room had a step in shower, which as you get older is almost a necessity...

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of staying at this gorgeous bed and breakfast. We were in the Richardi King Room. From our greeting on arrival to coffee outside our door in the early AM followed by a delicious breakfast and ending with a fond farewell, this inn can not be surpassed. In addition, Lulu's Restaurant is a very easy walk and it is absolutely tops. If you have not had a chance to see this beautiful inn, place it on the top of your list.

Room Tip: The Richardi King room is over the carriage house, but any room in this inn would be fine.

My wife and I stayed in the Balcony room. Our room was grand and comfortable. Our hosts, Linda and Ken, were very welcoming. The plated breakfasts were delicious. And morning coffee on the balcony was the perfect start to our days in Bellaire. As an added bonus, Short's Brewery is only 2 blocks away. We will definitely be staying here again!
