“One of the Best!”
Reviewed August 27, 2012

My husband and I only stay in B&Bs or small inns. This was perhaps our best experience to date. Very welcoming with extreme attention to details in a beautiful setting. We love old homes. At times it is disappointing to see a B&B in an old home that is still in need of renovation or basic maintenance. This was by far the best maintained B&B we have stayed in and perhaps the only one with clean windows. The only drawback I found was insufficent lighting for putting on my make-up.

Room Tip: Eastlake room has a balcony with a view of the tree-lined driveway. Very peaceful place for an even...

Jim and David did a wonderful job to make our experience in Bellaire a great and memorable one. They offered great tips on places to go and things to do, they also had cookies for us every morning. The food was phenomenal and the rooms were very inviting.

Oh my gosh! Where do I begin? Jim and Dave do a top notch FABULOUS job!! This B and B is the cleanest of any that we have stayed at ( and we have visited many!)!! They are the perfect hosts!! The food is beyond OUTSTANDING- what scrumptious breakfasts!! Happy hour every night from 5-6. They are a wealth of knowledge of the area. We will be going back in January for our 41st anniversary!!! Don't miss out!

If you ever happen to be in the area(it's only 45min to Traverse City, Petoskey, and Charlevoix), I highly recommend staying at the Bellaire Bed and Breakfast. You are welcomed onto the beautifully landscaped grounds by tree lined drive that leads to the parking area to the side of the house. The house is gorgeous and welcoming. Inside it definitely feels like home. The hosts are amazingly friendly(but not in a creepy way). The rooms are nicely decorated and clean, as well as the bathrooms(which are attached). There are fresh homemade cookies in your room each day, and they are delicious! They have an afternoon wine and cheese get together from 3-5pm, a tandem bike to use, hammocks to lounge in, a huge porch to sit and relax or chat on, a library to relax in as well. However, the absolute highlight is the breakfast! It is unbelievable what David can create in the kitchen. My husband is a vegetarian and they had no trouble accommodating him as well as the rest of us with fantastic food! Word of advice-don't plan on lunch, you will still be full! I can't wait to go back! I would like to try one of their dinner weekends. Thank you Jim and David for creating such a wonderful getaway!

Room Tip: We had the least chosen room because the bath is not attached but is still private. I would rent it...

Our stay was lovely, beginning with a tree-lined drive up to beautiful grounds and a greeting at the door by one of the inn keepers. The room was tastefully decorated, very clean and offered plenty of relaxation. Social hour in the evenings included great company, good wine and a tasty treat. Breakfast was much the same with good converstaion among guests, amazing food and a perfect start to the day! Perhaps our favorite part of the stay was the little "fairies" that snuck up to your room every chance they got to replenish your towels, tidy up, draw your shades and turn down your bed. They would even leave fresh baked cookies each time! The details are really what makes this place, from the hammocks strategically placed for napping or reading to the bicycle built for two that you can take into town. We were impressed with the service and will DEFINITELY be returning again soon.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Tuscany room which was decorated nicely, boasted a huge soaking jet tub, a private...

After 50 reviews, there's a reason that there isn't a single review with a rating less than EXCELLENT for the Bellaire B&B. Jim and David have paid attention to every detail to make for a stay that is nothing less than fantastic. The house is beautifully decorated, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast is unreal. The food is on par, if not better, than any classy hotel you can think of. The B&B is walking distance to downtown Bellaire, and certainly within stumbling distance from Short's Brew Pub. I can't recommend this B&B enough. I've been traveling to Bellaire for years and only recently found the Bellaire B&B. It will be my first choice for all future trips to the area. Thank you Jim and David for a fantastic stay. See you again soon.

We stay here every summer and for a birthday in October. The hosts are great, the room is beautiful, and the food is delicious. Good restaurants within walking distance. Jim and Dave are very attentive to detail. We are going back in October for two days and look forward to it already.
