The park has several features. There's the campground on the south side of the road, and the day park on the north side. The campground is a normal campground, heavily wooded with lots of mature trees. There are modern amenities. Most lots are not paved, water/sewer is not at the campgrounds. Most of the electrical hookups are shared, 30 amps. There is at least one swing set in the park, there might be more.
The day area has a cute little pond with a ~1 mile trail around it. There's a playground and several pavilions, there is also a spray park. Behind the pond is the beach. it's kinda a pain to get to (travel light). There are some volleyball nets set up. But be forewarned that the Bay is very shallow, you need to go out pretty far to get in deep water. The water level is also dependent on the wind direction. There's a DNR wildlife building, it's educational and will intrigue the kids for a little while.
The area connects to a rail trail, but I'm not sure where it goes, and next door is a cute ice cream diner (cash only).
