While traveling west, we stayed overnight in Battle Creek and decided to visit the Firekeeper's Casino for dinner and perhaps a little slot play. It was a Saturday evening. Upon arrival, we signed up for their slot card which provides a discount at the buffet. The folks at the desk were very helpful, friendly and efficient. They do a nice job of making you feel welcome.

The casino itself is modern an clean. It was busy, and being a weekend, we thought that the machines might give a little action. However, our experience at the slots was disappointing. Machine after machine were simply totally dead with little play for our money.

We went to the buffet room for dinner. The cost was $44.00 for us both after the discounts. Again the staff was friendly and efficient. Our attendant was Chelsea and she did a great job looking after our needs. The room itself was a disappointment. It is very bright and garish looking and very badly laid out for seating and traffic flow. It was also very noisy but not full.

There is a good selection of choices, including a carving station, Italian and Chinese food. There is also a nice desert selection. The salad offerings seemed sparse compared to other casino buffets we have visited. We love salads, so this was a big disappointment for us. We didn't find the buffet particularly good value versus price and we felt the room didn't contribute positively to a relaxing eating experience.

We were a group of 12 golfers that came to Battle Creek for a golf weekend in July/13. The casino itself was very nice and clean and the majority of the staff were polite and friendly. We played in the casino for a while then went to one of the bars in the casino to listen to the live band. That's when our evening went for a turn. At about 10:30pm 2 of our friends were asked to leave the bar because they were deemed to be "drunk". They weren't. Yet they were allowed to stay at the casino and gamble?? The only drinks we consumed were provided by the casino and their bar. Then they decide they served 2 of our friends too much and told them to leave. Being cut off is one thing but being kicked out of the bar that served you too much is a little ridiculous. Nonetheless, all of us left with our friends and returned to our hotel. I wonder if it had anything to do with the fact that the 2 friends they kicked out won over $5,000 between them. Clearly they wanted them out of the bar and back on the casino floor. Very poor way of doing business. Last time we ever golf and stay in Battle Creek.

Very nice non-smoking area...clean, free Pepsi refreshments, Good variety of slots, very nice hotel. Rooms featured a lot of area, shower split from rest of bathroom facilities. Refrigerators included. Bi-level pool is a nice change of pace.

I'm not really big on casinos but this building is a showplace, inside and out!
The exterior is done in extraordinary colors. Red, oranges and yellow with gold windows. It's lovely when the sun shines on it and at night with the lights on.
The interior has high ceilings with beautiful lights dangling. They also have a really efficient smoke release system, the best I've ever seen.
There are several unusually decorated restaurants and bars. We visited two and liked them both. We decided not to stand in line at the buffet.
The gambling? Well, I won a little money so I think it's good!
