“Absolute Comfort”
Reviewed September 17, 2012

From time to time we stay at the Beechwood and this past weekend was no exception. Our room was comfortable, well appointed and very clean. The bathroom is spacious and also very clean. There is a refrigerator under a small bar area and a nice wide screen TV. The rooms sit a bit off the highway so there is very little noise filtering in. The hotel also has a very nice restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating (for nice days/evenings). The staff was very well trained and helpful. We arrived for dinner with four adults and three children. They had a perfect booth seating to accommodate us. Two of the children were celebrating their birthdays. When alerted the staff brought their desserts with candles in each. It was a very good experience.

We recently stayed at the Beechwood Hotel and haven't stopped raving about it! We were impressed by so many things - the food, the staff, the building. Details in the room that that were especially appreciated were the free wireless (hotel-wide) lots of plugs and great lighting in the bathroom, really impressive towels and linens and the bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. Room furnishings didn't look like assembly-line hotel fare - very homey and tasteful. The hotel itself has original art on the walls, antiques, and even a reclaimed, refurbished chapel. The hotel is across the street from U Mass Med school and hospital and about a 40 minute drive to a great outlet mall. Ceres Bistro had incredible food and the wait staff were both helpful and knowledgeable - they even recommended a chardonnay by asking how oaky we liked it! I can't say enough about this wonderful hotel and hope to be able to return soon. Highly recommend!!

My wife and I chose the Beechwood Hotel to stay at and to recommend to our guests for our wedding weekend. We had a wonderful experience at the Beechwood, as did our friends and family. The rooms were wonderful, the service was amazing and the staff was exceptional. Several of our guests made comments directly to us about what a wonderful experience they had at this hotel. Several staff members went above and beyond to provide assistance during the weekend. We had a brunch at the hotel as well and the selection of food was so extensive, all of our guests were amazed and thrilled at all of the options. Overall we had a wonderful stay here and are so glad that we chose the Beechwood for such a special weekend.

Room Tip: Our friends and family were spread out across many rooms within this hotel and all of them had wonde...

Group of us stayed here for a rowing competition.Clean, Jr Suite room accommodated 4 of us. Lots of nice touches, like an umbrella in the room. 2 sinks, one outside bathroom. Able to walk to Lake Q. Continental breakfast better than avg. Ceres Bistro very good for a hotel restaurant, live music Fri night. Only complaint: breakfast not served until 7:30 am weekends. They opened early for us Saturday, 6:30, but not Sunday. We had to leave early, so missed breakfast. Will definitely stay here next time we come to Worcester.

We stayed here during a job interview at nearby U Mass. Extremely convenient location (across street from U Mass med school and hospital). The staff was very friendly and attentive. Continental breakfast included in room charge was not expansive but a nice selection. The hotel allows dogs (with a fee) which is a very nice perk, and not many other hotels in the area offer this. The fitness center was sparse - a couple of outdated pieces of cardio equipment and some free weights. Altogether, a great stay and would definitely recommend.

Stayed at the hotel while visiting WPI. The hotel was easily accessible and the front desk was attentive. The room was big enough that you could sit and watch TV on chairs rather than your bed. The Continental breakfast was in the restaurant and was fresh, but initially when we went to the breakfast, there was one hour remaining and the fruit was almost all gone. It was not replenished until another two sets of tables came in. Also, the breakfast is completely cold food only (you can toast bagels), so if you want anything hot, you have to order off the menu. Last of all the breakfast required you to sit down and eat as opposed to grabbing and going. This is problematic when you check out early. However, I would still stay here again and had a great stay.

We traveled to Worcester for a wedding in nearby Princeton, Mass. The Beechwood has an attractive exterior and interior, with plenty of free parking and a nice driveway near the front door and covered entryway.

In an executive junior suite in the round building we had plenty of room for a couple and young adult. In fact, we were very pleased with the length of the room. The fold-out sleeper sofa is comfortably distant from the king bed. Nice mini-fridge and coffee area; great window shutters with ac vents, ample closet and drawer space and big flat-screen tv. The bath was nice and had plenty of amenities.

The fitness room was small but adequate; however we stuck with walking as our form of exercise for the 3 nights of our visit. There was plenty of room in our suite to lay down a towel and do some crunches and Pilates exercises.

The restaurant, Ceres, is pretty and well designed. We enjoyed the continental breakfast twice, taking our coffee outdoors one time to enjoy on the spacious, nicely appointed patio. Fresh-squeezed OJ always gets high marks in my book, but the selection of food, although adequate, was fairly lacklaster. On Friday evening, the happy hour crowd in the bar seemed to be enjoying themselves. We were in Ceres' large private dining room for a rehearsal dinner, at which the food was very tasty, especially the swordfish and lamb.

Front desk staff and housekeeping were all welcoming, pleasant and helpful. Entry to the hotel and lobby area are very attractive and nicely decorated. Check out the hallway entrance to Ceres. The one downbeat to our stay in Room 302 was that the party, we think in 301, came home late from another party, perhaps a wedding since there were several going on that weekend, and had a little drunken rampage, the evidence of which was strewn about the hallway in the morning. If we'd called downstairs I'm sure someone would have quelled the storm; fortunately it ended after about 15 minutes. I was kind of hoping there were closed circuit hallway cameras that would have prompted someone to act, but maybe that's unrealistic.

The business center was useful for maps and boarding passes. We're not familiar with Massachusetts' roadways, so each of our ventures out required a lot of detail. We had brought several sets of directions with us, but were glad to be able to access computers and printers for the add-ons.

Room Tip: If your party is 3 or more, choose a suite.
