“Oldie but goodie!”
Reviewed March 2, 2013 via mobile

Haven't been here in ages and by that I mean years. Stopped in mid-afternoon before heading back north to home. Looking forward to one of their yummy sandwiches or maybe even a grinder. As always, LOTS of choices-so stand back to read and make up your mind before heading for the counter. My choice was hot pastrami on marbled rye with spicy mustard and American cheese. Hubby's choice was corned beef and Swiss on rye with yellow. Meats were cut to order and made individually just like they used to and served with a generous slice of half sour. So tender and juicy! As hungry as I was I could only manage half which made hubby happy as he got to have both. The quality and service has not changed here and it's probably why they're still going strong since 1947. Don't miss the boat on this deli!

“DO NOT EAT HERE, EVER!!!”
Reviewed April 21, 2012

These people are incredibly rude. They do not acknowledge customers and have generally no customer service whatsoever. The food is ok, but the insane prices kill the deal. Expect to spend at least 10 bucks for a sub and MAYBE some chips or a soda. When you go in, you better know exactly what you want, because the workers are no help at all. Stay far away from this place.

“What a Delicatessen should be, an outstanding grinder!”
Reviewed September 23, 2010

Maurys is a worcester institution and that isnt just a catch phrase. This place has stuck to its roots, continuing with the tradition of serving top quality sandwiches and great service and value. You will not find a better tasting sandwich in worcester. I have had many of their sandwiches and they truely to live up to their name as "famous grinders".
Pastromi, Corned Beef, Excellent roast beef, turkey, and their homemade soups all are excellent. The sandwiches have plenty of meat on them, not like a subway sandwich where you have 3 or 4 whimpy pieces of meat, these are hearty 1/2lb of meat sandwiches.
I would highly recommend Maurys if you want a traditional old fashioned delicatessen with tremendous value and excellent food.
Make sure you watch for their weekly specials, they never disappoint!

“When you REALLY want a good sandwich.”
Reviewed July 29, 2010

We went to Maury's Deli on our way home to sit by the pool. Should we get some sandwiches to munch on? Sure. Low and behold, these were not just sandwiches you stuff down your throat because you're shaking with hunger. The bread is delicious, the cold cuts are fresh as can be, pickles - cool, crisp, and crunchy with every bite. The location is something out of the Food Network featured restaurants - a bar inside, a glass counter, looks like it has been there forever. If they keep making sandwiches like the one I had, they will be here another 50 years.
