We hadn't been here in a few years, but things were definitely a notch or two better this time -- fresh food and good service, despite a busy lunchtime crowd.

We'd definitely recommend the Cape Cod Reuben (fresh cod and swiss cheese on a lightly grilled Texas toast, served with a tasty pickled cole slaw) and the very filling bean, corn, and grilled chicken salad. Also, the Key Lime Pie here was simple, mild and (with berries on the side) very satisfying.

We definitely will go back to the "Monger" next time we're in Woods Hole!

After a long plane flight and a slow bus ride -- staying in Woods Hole for the night before catching the ferry to the Vineyard in the morning -- a family of Westerners looking for some good atmosphere and food, in equal measure, found it here. Fresh fish, some steamers, a salad and a cold beer, all while watching the boats bob in the marina next door.

We had a late lunch here after going out on the discovery cruise just over the draw bridge. We were so glad we stopped here. Best steamers I have eva had - they were sweet & delicious. The Lobsta roll was the best tasting I had during my visit to the Cape and one of the best eva. Fresh lobsta, toasted roll, and just enough crisp greens added to kick it up a notch.. could not be made better. We also had the crabcakes - they were extremely tasty and fresh. Our daughter had pasta with sauce on the side - she loved it and ate every bite. We ate at the bar, the bartender was excellent - he timed every order perfectly and attended to everything. The draft beer selection and drink specials were excellent. Great relaxing atmosphere - a true fish house. If waiting for the ferry or visiting Wood's Hole this is the place to eat. The draw bridge and boat activity right outside the windows make it all the more special and relaxing. When we thanked the bartender for such a great meal and expressed how happy we were to stop there he brought us over to the owner who was having lunch at a nearby table - he thanked us for coming. We will definitely return again & again.

While recently visiting the area we decided to visit this restaurant for a late lunch, it was pretty vacant at the time. Our waiter was friendly but he obviously had very little server skills.We had a crab cake app then a lobster roll a fish sandwich and fish taco, the food was decent however for the quality is was overpriced. The crab cakes came with a scoop of some sort of icy cold buttery sauce it was so cold it sat on top in a ball. The fish taco was good but the cod inside was chunks and was difficult to eat, and the lobster roll was good but overpriced at 25 bucks. The waiter brought the food which included fries and never brought ketchup we had to ask for that and tarter sauce for fish sandwich. When we were leaving a young man in an apron was hurrying into the restaurant carrying money and a box of frozen veggies from the store down the street. The view was nice.

While waiting for the ferry to Martha's Vineyard we ate at Fishmonger's Cafe. The staff is very friendly with smiles and chit chat. The ambiance is exactly what you'd expect for a seaside town, and I mean that in the best way.
Our meals were delicious, even mouth watering. We were waited on by Jarrod, who has blue, blue eyes. Just saying. Service was great and he actually seemed to be enjoying his job, which is a bonus to travelers.
This was a great pick. The restaurant is right on the dock with the front door on the street side. Our table was by an open window so the breezes off the water were really nice.
