This bridge attracted everybody whether they were walking or driving. A real up-close look at this marine delight. We were mezmerized by the actual lifting of the bridge, and equally thrilled watching the boat pass through right in front of our eyes.

An interesting little bit of science and technology. Great for little curious minds. And for grown ups too.

This summer I was in Woods Hole several times for the half hour and hour drawbridge raise. Every time, I saw tourists watch with excitement, take photos and joy what locals take for granted... If you are in Falmouth in season, it is worth watching if just to see people smile.

when this is up-you can either walk all the way around eel pond or wait for it to come down. the recent rebuild makes it fast to go up and down. ch 16 to ask for it to go up... anything larger than a center console requires the bridge to go up. It's cute and of course the local kids painted the underside of it with graffiti in less than a month. You just never know what it's going to say...
