“I will definitely stay at the Woods Hole inn again.”
Reviewed August 15, 2012

The entire staff is so friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is fabulous. I would recommend spending a little more for one of the larger rooms with a private oceanview deck, renovated bathroom, and marble rain shower. I stayed two nights; the first night in room 4 ($345) the second night in the Nonamesseet room ($425). Had I stayed in the Nonamesseet room both nights, I would have given the inn all 5s, but room 4 was a little weathered and not as clean as the Nonamesseet--and not priced accordingly (more like $300 per night value) Great view of harbor.

My husband and I planned to visit Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard. We stopped at the visitor's center in Falmouth and requested a place to stay near the ferry to Martha's Vineyard and within walking distance to restaurants. They gave us several options, but strongly suggested Wood's Hole Inn. I called ahead to see if rooms were available and they said we could come by and check the place out. As soon as we entered the Inn we knew this was where we wanted to stay. Amanda showed us a couple different rooms and we chose one on the second floor she told us had been newly renovated. We stayed 2 nights.

Our room was very comfortable, cozy and quiet. It was very nicely decorated with hardwood floors and ample drawers, shelves and places to put all of our stuff. In August it was very nice to have the window air conditioning unit. It kept our room cool and comfortable. The king size bed was very comfortable as well. The bathroom was large with a bathtub including a shower with a rainfall type shower head. Handmade soaps, shampoo, lotion, bath salts, cotton balls, etc. were provided. The bathtub/shower also had pumps that provided shampoo and body wash. The micro cotton towels and wash-clothes were so soft and absorbent. I wish I had that brand at home!

Chilled water and glasses are available on each floor. Fresh homemade cookies were in the kitchen in the afternoons and evenings. There are games and DVDs available to borrow. Our room had a flat screen TV as well as a DVD player. Breakfast is provided and it was phenomenally delicious! It included fresh cut fruit (strawberries, blueberries, pineapple, kiwi, cantaloupe and honeydew melon), homemade granola, pecan rolls, croissants with jam and butter, coffee cakes, savory quiche, savory bread pudding, juices, coffee, tea, etc.

The Inn has several common areas indoors as well as a deck on the backside overlooking the harbor and a porch on the front side. We spent time in both outdoor areas people watching and relaxing. Parking is included and there is a valet on hand to move cars around as needed. The parking lot is fairly small so sometimes they do have to shuffle vehicles around. There are bicycles available as well. My husband and I hoped to put them to use, but we ran out of time. Woods Hole is a charming town and it would have been great to explore it on bikes. There is a computer with internet access available in the common area. We did not bring our own but there is free WiFi available as well.

Amanda, the innkeeper, gave us much useful information about the town of Wood's Hole, attractions in the area and local restaurants. We especially liked Pie in the Sky and had pizza delivered by Stone L'oven Pizza, both recommended by her. There are beaches nearby, a free aquarium, shops, restaurants, etc. We were able to walk to the ferry (about a block away) and thus avoid parking fees there. The rest of the staff was helpful and friendly as well.

The inn had several postings about all the efforts they have made to become more "green," eco-friendly and how they strive to reduce their carbon footprint. They recycle and have used recycled materials within the building. They utilize local and handmade products when available.

If we ever return to the area we plan on staying at Woods Hole Inn. I highly recommend it as it was one of the best places I have ever stayed. I looked through the pictures available on TripAdvisor's site and they depict it very well.

We stayed for three nights and had the connecting rooms on the ground floor, spotlessly clean and very comfortable, lovely location, very friendly staff & fantastic breakfasts! Would certainly return if we ever visit Cape Cod again (a bit of a trek from the UK!)

The Woods Hole Inn lived up to our expectations. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We appreciated that they gave our family beach towels to take to Stony Beach. By the way, Stony Beach is in fact sandy and just beautiful for swimming! We also loved their breakfast; just outstanding. The room (#5) itself was nothing too special. Simple and clean but not luxurious. A tight fit, but do-able, for two adults and two older kids using the pull-out bed and a roll-away. Enjoyed eating lobster tacos at Quick's Hole downstairs. Parking attendants were very helpful and we were allowed to drop-off our car early before check-in and pick-up late after a day trip to Marthas Vineyard (extra charges of course). All in all, a perfect base for a day trip to MV and then some fine eating nearby.

Room Tip: Ask about the room location. Ours was street side and was a little noisy.

The Inn was a delightful place to stay for the weekend with college friends. The rooms were clean and spacious, breakfast was delicious and creative, and the inn keepers couldn't have been more welcoming. We will definitely be back.

My family spent the night here before we caught the ferry over to Martha's Vineyard and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our rooms were decorated with stylish New England decor and they were roomy and comfortable. There were several nice sitting areas around the Inn and the omnipresent bowl of cookies (homemade!) and fruit was really appreciated. The location is right in the middle of town (with parking provided) so we could walk to all the shops and restaurants. The morning breakfast was a wonderful surprise and was really delicious! We look forward to staying with them again next year. One word of warning, if you're a light sleeper and like to sleep with your window open at night request a room away from the street.

We had a wonderful stay at the Woods Hole Inn during the Woods Hole Film Festival and were completely delighted with the experience. Our guest room was spacious, clean, impeccably decorated and dog friendly-- with a comfortable bed and pillows, always so important. We also loved relaxing in the main area of the Inn, which offered comfy couches and cozy corners to curl up with a book along with lots of great outdoor seating for lazing with the paper in the sunshine.

The breakfasts were amazing-- home cooked deliciousness that we looked forward to each morning. All-around service was superb: attentive, thoughtful, quick and friendly. Don't miss out on the chance to enjoy the incredible hospitality of the Woods Hole Inn.

Room Tip: Room # 6 is pup friendly and you have the option to extend into Room #5 for an even more spacious su...
