My wife and I enjoyed our time spent here. There is much to do and see here. This is a working aquarium, but the staff takes time to answer your questions. The capability to go behind the scenes adds a different dimension. Make sure you check the seal feeding schedule ahead of time so you can plan to be there for that.

Free and fun, kids love the hands on opportunity the aquarium offers. The seals are always fun. The MBL and WHOI is such a big part of Woods Hole so I always love a chance to be part of it. Just check out the downstairs exhibit....take a few minutes and learn so much!

Not the best Aquarium I've visited - very much on the small side, it seems to be attached to the Ocean Institute.

The aquarium is small, but well put together. With all the researchers around WHOI/NOAA it's shown in the exhibits. Lots of interesting things considering the space allocated. Great touch tanks, typically rescued seals in the exterior tank, exotic local fish and some fish from away. Great for kids. We go every year and the kids never seem to get bored. Getting braver and braver about what the pick up in the tank! It's free (I think) but you do need an ID (post 9-11 security change-it's part of NOAA. A short walk that even toddlers can handle.

Not worth a trip from afar, but if you're on the Cape, definitely stop by. You'll be fascinated, maybe learn something, and afterward you'll be in Woods Hole, which is a pretty interesting place unto itself.
