“Great for the kids...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2008

We sent the children out with our babysitter and they all had a great time. Michael got named the chief scientist. They went out on the Sea Star and parked in the sound, doing some water sampling and catching a few critters to educate the kids.

Our kids went out on the Sea Star, which I don't think they are using anymore. They appear to have a smaller boat now.

“One of the best trips on the Cape”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2005

Located a few steps away from the aquarium in Woods Hole and right next to where the research ships and submarines dock - Ocean Quest is well worth the money. Its truly a beautiful harbor.

The owners and teachers on board are professional teachers and naturalists. They are friendly, excited and are very knowledgable.

The experience aboard is very well run and very organized. From the touch tank in the back of the ship to hauling up a lobster trap (kids get to do it with the teachers) and also learning about water quality - looking at the plankton in the water with hand held microscopes - this is a well run adventure that will not let you get bored.

I have been a teacher/naturalist for a major East Coast museum and I was impressed by their knowledge, teaching ability and how well they all work with kids and parents.

Make sure you go on this trip if you are in Woods Hole.

BTW after your trip the best place for breakfast, lunch and coffee is Pie in the Sky Bakery - [--]

“Excellent!”

Terrific program keep up the good work! Very interesting and educational "hands-on" activities that were very motivational for the children aboard and prompted questions that were answered at a level that they could easily understand. The cruise was a learning experience for adults too!
