“What is that darn ringing???!!!”
Reviewed January 5, 2007

First I would like to say in general the hotel is a very good deal for the Boston area . We were able to book our room on New Years Eve for well under $100 ($63 on the hotel website) The hotel is situated about 4 miles from the Oak Grove Station on the Orange Line. A pretty easy and in-expensive way to access the city.

The hotel is right off of I-93 but it is in a slightly odd location. I would hardly call it inconvenient as mentioned in a couple of the reviews. You won’t see the actual hotel property as you come off the exit; however the access road is directly in front of you. Just look for the signs.

The hotel access road is situated directly next to a McDonalds. Just don't look at the vacant lot in between the hotel & McDonalds - it is where McDonald's garbage seems to go to die. Not much the hotel can do about it I suppose, but not the sort of thing that you want to see heading up for a night's stay.

With that said. The actual hotel grounds are quite clean and well lit. Safety is not an issue and parking is plentiful.

The reception area is clean and attractive. The rooms appear to be on the larger side. Ours had two queen beds a microwave, refrigerator, and was well apportioned. The linens were fresh and in good shape and the bed relatively comfortable (although on the firm side). Carpets in the room were starting to show some wear but were well within acceptable tolerances.

There is an ample breakfast area with a small selection of pastries, fruit, cereal, and a small waffle maker. Make sure to watch the clock in the morning - at 10AM the food can and will disappear. Being New Years day we were a little slow on the uptake and the hotel staff had started cleaning up just as we came down for breakfast. Check-out is 11AM so there is plenty of time for the slow-risers out there to get up and get going.

The only thing marring our stay was a nasty little fire alarm at 3AM. According to the front desk some folks in one of the smoking rooms on the second floor set it off accidentally. Not quite sure what they were smoking, but I can tell you with absolute certainty, the alarms work and work well. Not the sort of thing you want to wake up to after a night on the town.

We would certainly stay at this hotel again - even with the "special wake-up call". One of the better values in Boston.

Coming from New Hampshire, which is north of Burlington, we often have appointments at the Lahey Clinic. Unfortunately, traffic to and from Massachusetts from 7-9 a.m. and 5-7 p.m. is almost at a standstill pace, so we have decided that in most instances, we stay overnight. We had been less and less happy with the Quality Inn in Lexington, so we decided to try the Comfort Inn in Woburn, which is only 10 miles away. Access to the clinic and the hotel are wonderful--although the Mapquest directions are not 100% reliable. It is more helpful to mention that the hotel is behind McDonald's, which is at the base of the ramp on Exit 36 off I-93. The handicapped accessible room was far nicer than others we had stayed in. The only complaint(?) we had was there were no signs AT ALL identifying the hotel, even though they were in close proximity to other hotels. We had to call the hotel from the parking lot of Wendy's down the street. Even when we got to the correct street behind McDonald's, there was no sign at the parking lot announcing Comfort Inn. Only the etching on the front doors identified the building as a Comfort Inn.There is a great restaurant across the street from McDonald's (Spuds) with something for everyone at a reasonable fare. All in all, a very pleasant overnight experience--we booked the room two days later, as well.

Our family of 5 stayed here for two nights in Aug 2006 while on an extended vacation in New England. This hotel had a wonderful setup for us--two rooms with 3 queen beds. (It was a double room plus a small attached bedroom containing an additional queen bed, TV and separate A/C unit.) This meant some privacy for Mom and Dad (yea!) and plenty of room for everyone to stretch out. The price was $143.10 AAA rate, which was not much higher than the other Boston hotels I checked for a regular double room plus a rollaway.

The room was very spacious and clean and included a microwave, refrigerator, iron/board, and blow dryer. The interior décor was very rich and one of the best things—no “hotel smell.” There was a single washer and dryer laundry in the basement next to a compact but nice fitness center. A computer with internet was available in the lobby. My biggest complaint, having three kids, was that there was no pool. Breakfast in the morning was typical continental fare, and one of the two mornings they added bananas, apples and hard-boiled eggs. Make-your-own waffles were also available.

The hotel is immediately off I-93. It is just up the hill (a 2 minute walk) from a McDonald's, and only a few steps more from two nice family restaurants (Bickford's and Spud's—we ate at both). Although the hotel itself is lovely, it is bordered by an abandoned building and parking lot that make rather undesirable neighbors.

There is a bus stop right next to the McDonald’s. If we’d known our schedule, we’d have taken the bus to the T station, but the bus only ran until 8:00 pm. As it was, we drove to the nearest T station (about 10-15 minutes in rush hour traffic) and took the train into Boston for sightseeing. That worked well, although the parking lot at the T station was already almost full at 8:30 in the morning!

This is a good location to spoke into Boston and up to Gloucester for sightseeing. The last morning we enjoyed going the opposite way of most of the traffic as we headed toward Lowell to visit the National Historic Park there. This is a good hotel if the location works for your plans.

We recently stayed at the Comfort Inn in Woburn, MA. This is definetly the place to stay if you want a very clean place to sleep. The only activity available at the hotel is an exercise facility and internet station. Our intentions were to see as much of Massachusetts as we could on our vacation, and we did that. Woburn is a nice location, because it is close to Boston, Salem, and many other great attractions. The continental breakfast was very nice and there was a good variety.

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights to visit the Boston area. It's a pleasant stay for us with the rate we paid for. It locates next to I-93, where is only 8 miles from Boston, easy for me to drive back and forth. Also the breakfast is included. The only downside of the hotel is the carpet in the room, which looks a bit old. Overall it's a good choice with the rate under $100 while so closed to Boston metro area.

This hotel is tricky to find but, well worth it. The building is brand new and offers free DSL in every room. Everything is perfect and the free breakfast just adds to the excellent quality of this hotel. The low to moderate price is deceptive
