Our expectations were too high. An extra day in Winthrop gave us the chance to inquire about the 3 Italian restaurants near our hotel, and the comment that brought us to Alia was, "Much more individual attention. The owner will come out to greet you ..." Didn't happen. Instead, two harried staff hustled their best to barely keep up with a 60% capacity 8pm Friday crowd. Food was good, not great.

We arrived late in the evening after a day long drive and were so happy to have found this place. The friendly service and food were wonderful at a great price. When we return to MA this will be a must stop.

Saw the reviews in TA and went for it. Friendly service and good food. I had Osso Bucco and my wife had seafood with pasta- both excellent. Guy who runs the place very friendly (but not over the top) dinner for 2 with a salad starter to share for less than $40. What's not to like?

Small special Italian restaurant with fabulous food. Friendly informal milieu. We had a wonderful salad with their special vinaigrette dressing--yum. The rolled eggplant appetizer was superb. The entree veal saltimbocca was the best ever. The chef really does an excellent job with flavors and food prep. BYOB-and they will serve the wine for you. Closed on Monday. We walked in on a Sunday and were seated without waiting. Would even drive a little extra to get to this restaurant. Parking on the street.

Had dinner here while on a short trip to Boston. When we walked in the door, the owner let us know that it was a BYOB, in case we'd like to go purchase a bottle of wine to have with our dinner.

We were seated quickly and brought fresh, warm bread with olive oil for dipping. It was dynamite! The menu is not too large, with good classic Italian options. We ordered the chicken parm and seafood pasta - very tasty, not overdone. Just good food. The tiramisu for dessert was fantastic.

The restuarant was busy the whole time we were there - all the diners seemed to be enjoying themselves and their food. The food was served quickly, but we did not feel rushed. We enjoyed chatting with the owner - even though we were visiting from out of town, we felt like we were regulars there.

Overall tasty food, good service, decent prices.
