“Delicious Suprise”
Reviewed April 12, 2013

Tried this purely on a whim. This is not your corner Mexican restaurant, quite the contrary. What we found was delicious, carefully prepared food, served with flair in a warm, inviting dining room.

“Great find in Williamstown”
Reviewed March 30, 2013

We had a terrific meal at Coyote Flaco. It was nice to find something other than the choices on Spring and Water streets. The food and drinks were excellent, service friendly, and parking easy. Highly recommend!

Fresh margarita pitchers, homemade guacamole & salsa, vegetarian options, romantic setting and attentive servers--need I say more?

“The best Mexican in the northern Berkshires”
Reviewed January 27, 2013

Well okay, it may well be the ONLY Mexican restaurant west of Greenfield and north of Pittsfield, but it's still pretty good. Food-wise, four stars may be a bit of a stretch. The usual standbys (enchiladas, etc.) are pretty good but not exceptional. The guacamole is too bland, imho. But some of the other dishes, like the cheese tamales, are really very nice. Good veggie options too. The vegetable fajitas are quite good, and you can get any of the other dishes prepared with sauteed vegetable filling. What bumps it up from a 3.5 to a 4 star restaurant is the friendly and attentive service. The owners, who always seem to be there, are genuinely welcoming. An old guy comes in and plays flamenco guitar now and then too, adding to the festive atmosphere. So if you ever find yourself in the greater Williamstown metropolitan area and craving a little south-of-the-border flavor, this is the place for you.

“skip it - any place is better than this”
Reviewed November 9, 2012

Dinner with friend Nov 9, 2012 - a Friday evening, the place was empty. We soon found out why. Hot chips were provided right away with salsa and chicken salad (a weird combination, but why not), and this seemed like a good beginning. We ordered guacamole, which came with more chips but was flavorless - they had scooped out an avocado, smushed it, and stuffed it back in the shells. Cute, but no cigar. Then dinner was both lukewarm, and flavorless again. Burritos probably had all the ingredients, but were just icky. By the way, there was no hot sauce served, so what you got, you got. Little tortilla cups held chopped tomatoes and other things, but it all felt like McDonald's trying to do Taco Bell - poorly.
The worst part? The bill - as much as a four or five star restaurant, for a McDonald's version of pretend Mexican. My advice, skip it: any place will be better than this.
