“delightful service, good food”
Reviewed September 13, 2012

We had a great dinner at Mezze a few weeks ago. The most memorable thing was the wonderful service. Our server seemed to be there every time we needed her yet she was not hovering or intrusive. The food was very interesting -- it took several looks at the menu to decide what we wanted. Most of the selections reflect local food which we appreciated as long time visitors to Williamstown. The standout was the Cricket Creek Farm pate. My pasa dish was fresh and engaging. My husband's steak was good, but here the "local angle" went bit negative as it was rather chewy. t was a special dinner, reminded me why it's nice to go out to a good restaurant sometimes.

“Got too jiggy with it!”
Reviewed September 4, 2012

There were three of us and all three agreed that everything and
I mean everything had a spice or two too many in it. Not enjoyable
at all...chef tries to hard and overdoes...as Will Smith would say
too jiggy with it!

“Difficult to Choose.....”
Reviewed September 4, 2012

The food has improved to the "worth a detour level" or worth a special trip... Had a house made sardine, olive, caper canape with a well made martini for a great start. Hen of the woods mushrooms, listed as a side dish, were very appetizing with a simple salad for an appetizer. I'm just going to describe the main courses. I had a pork loin with a thin smear of polenta, a deep brown demi-glace, and a topping of crispy/savory mushrooms and crispy chard. The flavors exploded. My friend John had the gittara pasta with a complex four meat bolognese. Best of class. I wanted it too; next time maybe a half portion before my entree. I only got one bite of the steak across from me and it was gone; definitely not boring; the schmeer of green tomato katsup was conversation stopping. My wife had a stew of mutton and veal over a small portion of cous cous. The sauce of this dish had probably been reduced separately. Tender succulent bites of lamb and veal; fragrant; not the least bit of fat driving its intense taste. On point presentation, local vegetables. Knowledgeable friendly service. It takes a lot of experience and talent to make these long cooked sauces fresh. The only negatives are you will not want to share and it was over too soon. Can't wait to return.

“Lovely find in williamstown”
Reviewed August 26, 2012

Stopped here after golf at nearby Taconic course. Very pretty restaurant beautifully designed interior. Staff was terrific, friendly and very knowledgeable. They mix a very good drink and the food was outstanding. Locally-sourced, fresh and delicious. My husband had their signature pasta which was excellent, and a warm melon/tomato/pesto salad that was to die! I had their pork tenderloin dish which was wonderful. Highly recommended.
