“If you stay here make sure you don't get room 201!!!”
Reviewed October 26, 2009

We recently stayed at the Orchard Hotel for an overnight trip. I found the Orchard on line and the fireplace rooms looked like the perfect place for our overnight get away. The hotel was clean, nicely decorated, the beds were comfortable, and the staff courteous. The room we stayed in was very large, actually too large. The furniture was not well placed and we could not see the fireplace or the television from our bed. Our room was on the end and we found that meant we were right on Route 7. We soon came to realize that Rte 7 is a major truck route and they start very early. I have never stayed in a noisier hotel. So if you stay here and you want to get any rest make sure you ask that they don"t put you in Room 201

Stayed for two nights recently (Middle of October) Room decor past it's best, restuarant staff enthusiastic but scruffy and most need to wash thier hands. Food in keeping with a cafe but the most annoying point was they charge over 20% extra for room service plus the room menu has a much higher tariff than the restuarant.
Need to be aware they encourage coach parties who get priority for restuarant booking for dinner and breakfast.
The only redeeming feature was the bar downstairs, friendly staff and sociable customers.

We enjoyed our stay -- comfortable, spacious room -- room service was just OK, but the "Gala Benedict" eggs in the restaurant were delicious. Courtyard facing rooms are better -- the street can get noisy in others.

We stayed at Orchards Hotel for two nights and enjoyed the spacious and well-equipped king room. The hotel is overpriced for the area, however, and plunked down in the middle of traffic and parking lots, with not much charm. Recommend you book the AARP or AAA price to make the pricing more tolerable.

Excellent location. Two night stay. The room was quiet, expansive and clean, looking out on a pretty courtyard garden and little pond. Beds very comfortable. Terricloth robes provided. Bathroom had separate tub and shower with two basins and separate changing area.

Did not use the full-service restaurant, room service or the exercise room so can't comment on those. However did have a beer in the cozy lounge with a friendly bartender. Had no contact with staff except check in/out which was a breeze.

Am puzzled by comments below about the place being dirty. I just didn't see that except for some stains on a carpet in an exit stairwell. The decor is not cutting edge or modern but it is perfectly fine and suits the setting.

I would definately come back here again but think the $249 avg price listed on this site is maybe a bit much. We paid $169 and for an off-season price that was more than enough.

We came up for an overnight stay for ski trip...wanted to stay at the Hampton Inn but it was all booked. So Orchard Inn called us last minute after putting us on a wait list so we chose this over Comfort Inn thinking it might be a little fancier, but it's probably not as good.
I always check my beds the minute I get to a hotel and I found a couple of black stuff on the beds, luckily the room service lady was in the hall and I made her change my sheets. Then when I went to take a shower, I see that on the floor mats there were still hair and the towels were all stained! We called down for more towels and they never brought them! My kids had to share a towel! How disgusting and what bad service!

Stayed here as part of a Tauck tour- I didn't care for it- They assigned a room to us that already had someone in it for starters. Location is weird- right on a main street that has a strip mall feel- Dunkin Donuts was right across the street- Room was large as others have described- layout of the hotel is weird though- Room was clean and OK- This place is DEFINITELY not worth the price indicated on this site however-
