If you enjoy live theatre this is a must do. Two wonderful theatres featuring two distinctly different performances. The Williamstown Theatre is a regular stop for Broadway performers during the summer months. It affords one the opportunity to see top tier actors at much more economical pricing than found in NYC. When in the area you should make the time to attend one of the performances offered.

A charming, pedestrian- friendly New England town, affordable, award-winning theatre, surrounded by gorgeous farm and park land- makes for a beautiful weekend getaway!

Enjoyed different performances in 2012! Great seating. Performances are awesome. Some shows are sold out in advance due to high demand, I would suggest purchasing bundle tickets in advance, at least 20% off when you buy bundle tickets. Great offerings in cute town, Williamstown!

After the departure of Peter Hunt as Artistic Director, the Williamstown Theatre Festival began to slip a little, but producer Michael Ritchie did his best to maintain production values even if poor and even crazed directorial choices began to impair the theatre's excellent record in that area. The theater almost sank under the artistic misdirection of Roger Rees and further foundered under the occasionally fine but too often lazy and inept stewardship of Nicholas Martin. Finally, it has been taken over by the wonderful Jenny Gersten, who loves the theatre and town as much as Nikos P. and Peter Hunt did, and she is a dynamo!
The problem of the main stage and awful auditorium at the '62 Center remains, and probably will until a wrecking ball intercedes for sanity and aesthetics, but Gersten is bringing energy and excitement back to the WTF. If you were disappointed in the six years when Rees and Martin reigned, give it a chance. It is back and getting stronger!
Bravo Jenny Gersten!
