“Fantastic theater, local setting”
Reviewed September 7, 2012

I've been going to the WTF since I was a child (grew up in the Berkshires) and think that it's amazing that, summer after summer, the theater is able to produce edgy, creative work. Production values rival Broadway and the West End and the collection of actors, designers, directors, etc are amazing. And, the Festival has a great educaitonal component with their intern and apprentice programs.

If you've never been to the Berkshires do yourself a favor and get tickets for one of the evening shows on either stage---a great way to top off a day spent at MoCA and/or The Clark.

“Top-notch theater with a great tradition on the Williams College campus”
Reviewed August 19, 2012

I've thoroughly enjoyed everything I've seen here, on both the main stage and in the more intimate Nikos Theater. The acting is always superb, regardless of who's in the cast; productions often feature really big stars of the stage, with major film credits, because Williamstown is conveniently close to NYC, in the beautiful Berkshires, where performers and audience members alike like to spend their summers. In addition to the location, WTF is a big draw because of the decades of excellent shows which have helped launch new stars. Good seats in the big theater can be hard to snag unless you donate to the company, but you can get close to the action easily at the
Nikos, where I took advantage of a three-play package (choose 3 of the 4 productions) for $99 this season. This proved to be an exceptional value. Two of the plays I chose were new productions of up-and-coming playwrights, but you don't have to worry about risking your money on something new at WTF - everything they choose to do, in my opinion, is of high quality, and is beautifully staged and performed. Parking is available in, or on the roof of, an on-campus parking garage near the theater entrance. Great-sounding, but pricey, refreshments are available in the lobby.

“World class theater”

I can't recommend the festival enough. If you love theater, this is a wonderful place to be. It's obviously a close-knit community, so it's more laid back than NYC, which I appreciated. Yet, the caliber of production is equal to anywhere in the world.
